How Do I Make Them Stop?!?!

at my school all these people (almost my entire grade) keeps referring to me as some kind of emo f@g who slits his wrists and writes sappy songs. i mean i told them what kind of music i like and somehow it got to a point where the entire school said that good charlotte is emo. i guess it started because in the begining of the year, somehow, emo got risen up as the hot button. because my sister is emo and all her friends are i got some kind of rigid understanding of what it was about. but then as soon as i got to the job of correcting people 24/7 people got the impression that i was some lame ass emo jack ass (not to say that emo is lame). but then one day i wore a pair of some tight pants and every one jumped at me. i mean all day it was "hey whats with the pants you f@g?" its just lame and i need some way to make them get some kind of understanding of what emo is all about.

jibber 05-17-2004 10:46 PM

damn, my only idea is go to a school not full of *******s, but that could be difficult. you could just stop caring, if they know they can't get a rise out of you they'll stop.

xcollapseofmyheartx 05-17-2004 10:51 PM

well i dont care about what they say its just the repetitiveness. i think they know i dont care its just more of a issue of they do it just to impress their friends.

jibber 05-17-2004 10:58 PM

damn, people in you're school suck. the only time i've ever had someone try to make fun of me I just laugh in thier face, it's quite funny to see their reactions.

xcollapseofmyheartx 05-17-2004 11:00 PM

yeah the do suck. there was a kid who hit me in the face for no reason this year.

Thrice 05-18-2004 11:11 AM

ha ha...where do you attend school?

Kathryn 05-18-2004 04:32 PM

God I feel so bad for you! The only thing worse than ignorant people are ignorant people who try to force their narrow-minded beliefs on others!
I agree with Thrice, though, just ignore the little bastards.
Also, it might help if you didn't correct people's beliefs about emo-rockers, people don't like being corrected so that could be why they're picking on you. Talk to people with similar tastes and let the jerks at your school keep living in their little boxes!

Thrice 05-19-2004 08:08 PM

^ i didnt say that:)

maybe you should slit your wrists, then you would die and not have to deal with them :)

Kathryn 05-19-2004 09:24 PM

Oh I beg your pardon Thrice! I certainly wouldn't want to confuse you with someone who gives good advice!
I meant Jibber.

xcollapseofmyheartx 05-19-2004 09:41 PM

au contraire. i cant talk to anyone about anything. musicwise,
a. every jackass at the entire school (except for a few people) likes rap. ewww.
b. im too scared that my friends will exploit every band that i like if i tell them. they are all obsessed with every band that drive thru records puts out. besides hellogoodbye.
c. i share no musical insight with anyone. no one shares the same music as i and i find my music to be very personal.

i cant talk to anyone. i cant ignore anyone.

jibber 05-19-2004 10:05 PM

^ well you can always talk about music here, and get it out of your system. and if you REALLY get fed up with them, there's always ways to get revenge, especially if they have cars. there's flour in the air vents so it flys everywhere when they turn the car on; you can freeze 5 or 6 cans of chaving cream, hack off the bottoms, put them in the car and the foam will expand and make one helluva mess; you can wrap plastic wrap all around the car (time consuming yes, but a complete B*ITCH to get off). or you could just try as hard as you can to ignore them, and stick it out till you're out of highschool and away from immature people like that (for the most part anyways).

Thrice 05-20-2004 09:37 AM

Damn dude, you sound depressed...

Maybe you really should try that wrist thing...

Kathryn 05-20-2004 02:48 PM

Wow Thrice two in one thread! You either have some kind preoccupation with death or a really crappy sense of humour! (for your sake, I hope it's the latter)
collapseofmyheart, just ignore the people at your school and use these forums to talk about music, like Jiber said. But don't screw around witht their cars because they will definetly beat the crap out of you.

IamAlejo 05-20-2004 04:12 PM

Ugh, hang out with people that like the same music as you and don't even listen to the others. I dunno, make friends with everyone. My school isn't like that at all so I wouldn't know what to tell you.

well the problem is is that no one likes the same music as me. and i dont listen to the others they just bug the hell out of me. i mean like the degree of this is like im called some lame-dumbass-emo-kid-hellbent-on-slitting-his- wrists-with-some-dull-pencil everyday. i mean i was at my church thingy yesterday and when the leader guy was giving his message all the people from my school kept turning around to see if i was crying. and before that they threw water bottles at me and tried to make me cry because "i heard he was some emotional loser" (direct from his mouth) i have no problem with emo or anything like that its just the sheer ignorance of everyone that drives me insane. i mean they think that good charollette and simple plan are emo bands.

If you can start a convo with the spikey hair kidz, tell them to check out bands like Thursday, Thrice, Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail. (Poison The Well, Hopefall etc might be too hardcore for them now) Then maybe next year those same kidz will come back with bangs, tight jeans and band t-shirts. Pretty much every punk kid hates me, dont know why..., and there is only one person i know likes tbs. and i really couldnt give a kick in the face (i probably could but) because id get decimated. im not a strong kid.

jibber 05-21-2004 12:11 PM

wow, like i said people in your school suck. i was just kidding about messing with their cars, probably not the best way to go about it. other than just ignoring them, i really don't know what else you could do. i've never had anything like that happen to me, and noone in my school is like that. hopefully you can stick it out, and once you get out of high school you can surround yourself with people who like the same stuff you do, and even if they don', chances are they wont be ignorarnt a$$holes and try to make your life a living hell because they don't like you supposed taste in music.

starEied 05-21-2004 11:14 PM

high school sucks

high school sucks (as long as your in it) plain and simple.. in a few years you and a couple of those jack offs will sit around and BS about how great high school was.. its how it works.. ("when i say we should just be "friends" i really mean you should grow up"- BN )so just think a yearor two of this crap and your out, and you ll be off to college, and there you will find a music "hevean" like no other. I d suggest going post secondary, only 3 years of HS, NOICE!, freshmen college classes were easier than most of my HS classes anyway and its paid for by your HS, you ll meet a whole new crowd of people, and every guy wears tight pants.. mmm boys in nice pants, yum, i have never met in tight, nice fitting pants that i haven't been able to resist, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, keep wearing them, tell em to screw off, and in a few years you ll probly be best friends, ironic huh?

ally 05-22-2004 02:57 PM

oh man, yes i'd have to agree that school most deffinatly sucks. i recommend just ignoring them, i know thats what everyone says but really after a while itll start to work. as far as not being able to tlak to people about music, i recomend using this forum to do so.... and wait till college, youll meet some cool people there i guarintee it

brokenheartsandfallenhero 05-23-2004 12:52 PM

Alright collapse I have the same problem at my school kids think Im a cutter and that Im in a cult and crap I mean I dress in denim pants, band tee, purple zip up hoodie with a no war for oil band, and horn rims but people still think I dress weird and trying to explain myself to them is like talking to a wall. Peeple hate us for a reason collapse, the guys at least are jealous of us because anymore girls have really been liking the whole emo look and punks hate us because they think that we're pussies but I think that Stareied really got it straight when she said that these fools will be talking about high school 10 years from now... and I know for me in 2 years I am going to college and am gonna love the great indie scene!!!! for now though just put music up there with religion and politics and dont talk about it, unless you find someone that listens to the same genre as you

Who_Cares 05-24-2004 08:30 PM

I think the only obvious solution would be to kill them all ? :finger:

brokenheartsandfallenhero 05-24-2004 08:33 PM

Yea as all upright citizens would, pal what is all of this anamosity you obviously have stored up inside or is it just a facade hiding a gentler softer you

Thrice 05-24-2004 08:57 PM

I like his solution.

Who_Cares 05-25-2004 05:24 PM

Im not crazy or anything, lol actually, i have no clue what broken just said, but it doesnt matter, there are always oddballs everywhere, and people dont like whats different, conformity is what everyone wants, but if you get through each day without blowing up or anything, then you will prove to everyone who the biggest hard ass in your school is ;)

Thrice 05-25-2004 07:40 PM

...Ya the kid that kicks the shizznit outta the skrawny kids like me:)

brokenheartsandfallenhero 05-25-2004 08:28 PM

lol yea it always seems to be the kid yelling emo queer as he smashes my head in a locker...damn jocks(not to label anybody :) )

Who_Cares 05-26-2004 05:58 PM

lol i meant the kid thats gotta the biggest heart and determination, lol not just who can beat the crap outta who , lol you guys ......

Who_Cares 05-26-2004 05:59 PM

oh yea, i almost forgot, how do i make myself a quote thingy like you have thrice?

Thrice 05-26-2004 08:52 PM

Go to User CP, then select the first choice which is Edit Signature

brokenheartsandfallenhero 05-26-2004 09:52 PM

lol who cares, next time I am getting pummeled by a jock ill just tell him how big my heart is and how determined I am...JK I know what you're saying

Kathryn 05-26-2004 10:15 PM

Wow, reading all the stuff you guys just wrote... that really sucks. I've never even heard of people at my school treating one another that way let alone seen or experienced it.
But then I'm not emo. So can someone tell me, what is it that people seem to hate so much about emo kids? Personally I just don't find tight pasnts that offensive.

brokenheartsandfallenhero 05-26-2004 10:43 PM

First off the pants arent that tight they just actually fit and if anybody can ever find out just why people hate emo kids please tell me too. They think were spoiled I dont know about you all but I sure as hell ain't rich, is it becasue I write poetry maybe they think Im ***, or maybe its just because I really dont care what they think about me at all but whatever I listen to better music than them so I guess thats all that matters

Thrice 05-27-2004 04:58 PM

im like an underground emo kid...you couldnt tell by what i wear...except for my band shirts, like coheed.

brokenheartsandfallenhero 05-28-2004 11:45 PM

lol an underground emo kid...thats like saying I'm a tall towering person I like that though an underground undergrounder

Sneer 02-25-2005 08:43 AM

high school was rubbish for me too, im not going to lie and say everybody treated me badly because of my taste in music because quite honestly, i was scared to really express myself. but once in college 6th form, everything changes, people are a tad more mature and i just let everything go, grew my hair, ditched the preppie clothing, and just didnt care what people thought. just wait till college- its a whole lot better than high school.

David Frost 02-25-2005 09:30 AM

dont wear girl pants. quit referring to yourself and all your friends as "emos". youre not a genre. you are a person.

hopefully that helps

dirt mcgirt 02-25-2005 10:00 AM

Grow a thicker skin

Tommyrocker 02-25-2005 04:57 PM

This girl natalie who goes to my collegel, i wore nail varnish one day, just because i felt like it. and she reacted asif somehow i had offended her by being different from her. she was laffing at me calling me grunge etc. I then laughed right back in her ignorant face and explained how she was just a sheep picking on people that didnt do exactly as she did. Ive never heard such an obnoxious person shut up so quickly. stand your ground.

A2L 02-25-2005 10:02 PM

Alienation sucks, I think alot of us have gone through that. Most people who weren't part of the norm in highschool most likely went through that I'm sure. People grow up or at least learn to keep their mouth shut later... eventually.

Best thing is to ignore them, it sucks cuz most likely they'll keep going at it hopefully trying to get a rise out of you but most will stop. Still though, they may stop doing things up front but you'll end up with a reputation of being a cutter, emo ***, etc. But hey who really cares you know? It's highschool, most people in highschool are complete moronic dip ****s. In a couple of years that stuff won't even matter to you anymore.

It's sad, I mean highschool is hard enough for some people, hell life is hard enough for some people, yet we make it harder by alienating each other over the dumbest things. I got my friends to stop alienating others from what music they listened to back in junior high, I mean it's musical preferance, we really shouldn't be hating other people just for that.

What you should do though, is get into a debate with them. Let it lead onto some subject where you can throw things at them that show what kind of tool they are... bring up social norms, popularity, ignorance, etc. I find it funny when people get offended when you call them "f@g, a$$hole, etc." Those are so weak nowadays the only way I insult them is by bringing up things they're trying so hard to cover up. You gotta rip them to their core, show what kind of person they are to world. Like Tommyrocker said, stand your ground.
