Celebrating the Birthday of Brian Eno
A very happy birthday to Brian Peter George St John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno, born on this date in 1948.
In addition to the dozens of art prints, books, lithographs, 412 digital releases, and other miscellanea I’ve acquired, I’ve successfully built a sizable library of most major releases issued in the vinyl format by the artist. My library comprises 49 of his best-loved works totaling 77 discs of content, including the highly sought-after Music For Installations 9LP limited edition box set. Also pictured is my library of thirteen books examining the mind and the art of Brian Eno including a copy of Eno’s own diary, A Year With Swollen Appendices, as well as his Oblique Strategies oracle deck and an autographed portrait. It was great fun compiling them all. Thank you for permitting me to share my love for great music. Eno and his work are an unparalleled inspiration in my life. What's your favorite Eno work? My Eno LPs My Eno books A close-up shot I staged of the Oblique Strategies deck A promotional print for Eno's 77 Million Paintings at MoogFest 2011 The limited edition art print for the anniversary extended edition of Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks The watercolor lithographs painted by Peter Schmidt from the original UK pressing of Before and After Science I had professionally framed And my autographed portrait of Eno

That's an impressive collection, ISB !
To answer your question, my standout Eno favourite is the Heavenly Music Corporation track on No Pussyfooting. Other favourites, in their time, have been Warm Jets, Tiger Mountain, 801 Live and Music For Airports. I've never read a book by or about Eno, but I've always been curious about his Oblique Strategies deck: that sounds like such a clever idea, so well executed. I wonder how many artist dip into it - and also how much the cards can be used for life's more everyday dilemmas. Thanks also for putting up his full name, which surely, in the world of rock, has been a huge embarrassment to him. What were his parents thinking!!

Is it possible that I have something you don't have, ISB?!
A "compilation" cd with some extra tracks put on it:- That's not a record company ploy that I approve of, as most people only want half the cd: either you want the classic tracks, or you have them already and are buying the cd as a completist. Oddly enough, it suited me pretty well as I had lost all my Eno albums and was v pleased to get at least my favourite track back again. (If you don't know "Healthy Colours", the last one is the best, imo.)

Thanks, Lisnaholic! "Heavenly" is an undisputed classic track, indeed! And it's a fond favourite of mine as well.
To address the comp you kindly shared - it was only issued on compact disc so I didn't include it in my physical Eno vinyl collection, however in my 412 digital Eno albums I have both the 1979 unofficial Fripp & Eno - Healthy Colours album with all four edits as well as a lossless digital rip of the CD you shared. But I haven't listened to those four tracks before so I'll definitely give them some attention. Thank you!
