Who sounded better in the Devil Went Down To Georgia? :/
This is a question that's been on my mind for YEARS. In Charlie Daniels (RIP, The Devil Went Down To Georgia, The Devil challenges Johnny to a Fiddle Showdown. Devil says l,"If I win, you'll get this shiny fiddle made of gold, but if I win, I get your soul. " Johnny agrees, as he is confident in his Fiddle playing abilities, and they have the Fiddle Showdown. I found Devil's fiddle playing AMAZING and Johnny's Fiddle playing GOOD. I thought,"It's obvious that Devil won, he sounded MUCH better than Johnny. " YouTube Comments opened my eyes and pointed out that Devil is just hawing on his Fiddle like a Madman with no real passion or soul, and Devil cheated by having Demons play with him(I overlooked the "Band of Demons joined in," part) which is why it sounds so amazing. Johnny sang a song and played lively music straight from his heart and soul."
So I can now see how Johnny won. What do you guys think? Who sounded better? Johnny or The Devil? https://youtu.be/i_XGnxTi-fE Last edited by Karice; 08-20-2022 at 10:19 AM. |

Well considering in the lyric it says "The Devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat, and he laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny's feet", I think you have your answer.
