Question Looking for bands similar to Dire Straits

Hi, I'm looking for bands that have a similar style to songs by the Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler. Specifically, Calling Elvis and Why Aye Man are two songs I quite like.
Would be happy to see some song/band recommendations based on that.
Cheers

Maybe a bit of Jethro Tull will be just the thing.

"Surely you jest", I imagine you replying, confusedly. "Thick As A Brick or the entire Songs From The Wood is not very Dire Straitsy at all. And that Mark Knopfler is a straight shooter while Ian Anderson is madder than a bucket of eels".

Well, you would be correct, my dear Superbenni. But have you heard Jethro Tull's 1987 grammy winning hard rock/metal album Crest of a Knave?

In it, they shamelessly rip off Dire Straits much like Marillion did with early Genesis. It's also relatively well regarded and contains one of Ian's favorite JT songs (Farm on the freeway).

Take a listen to this:

Not a band, but I recommend JJ Cale, the guy Knopfler copied a lot of his style from.
