I came across these guys - not sure how - for I think it was Metal Month III and just loved them. I mean, why hasn't someone done this before? It's such an obvious crossover from metal to mariachi! ****ing hilarious!

Anyone who knows me knows I have no time for jazz, but I came across these guys and did feel the need to run screaming away...

Of interest probably only to Anteater and a few others, the rest of you can **** off with your smart comments.
New AOR/Melodic Rock band from Norway, superb sound somewhat reminiscent of Work of Art or Houston. Memoria Avenue* - "The Air That I Breathe", from the self-titled debut album * note: NOT Memorial Avenue, as Google will insist. Different band.

Take this I just happen to tune to..love this myself..ok I love most music.. To me that is no hard rock but more like your example of melody rock also. Yes Or No Trolly? |

I recently discovered the music of Karen Meat, which is the musical vehicle of Iowan [Elizabeth] Arin Eaton--she goes by her middle name. The concept is similar to that of Cat Power: Karen Meat is Arin and whoever is working with her on any particular project. The music is a blend of well above average indie rock, cynical but honest lyrics, and somewhat sweet singing--all of the elements work really well together. I don't think Arin and crew have played much outside of Iowa, a situation I predict will change sooner or later. Check out Karen Meat on Bandcamp.
