Help selecting background music
I am producing a series of YouTube videos regarding the US election and the current political conditions. The videos are designed to encourage people to vote. I have released the first one and plan to release at least 5-6 more over the next week or so. The first video was mostly patriotic and inspirational about the principles on which this country (America) was founded. For background music I used mostly America the Beautiful.
The rest of the videos are about topics like morals (or the lack of them), ignorance, corruption, the coronavirus, and climate change. These are not happy themes, so I don't want to use happy music, but I am not sure what to use. So I could use some help. I have found several sources for music tracks at a reasonable fee, but I am having a lot of trouble selecting the right music. If it's appropriate, I can post the YouTube link to my first video so people can see the style. This is a not-for-profit project that I am funding myself. If there are any profits, they will donated to an organization working to get out the vote or for the rights of women and minorities. I would then be delighted to post early no-public versions of each video to get critical reviews here. Let me know if this appropriate and I will proceed accordingly. Thanks PS: I will give credit to the source of any music and to Music Banter for any music found here. Last edited by Diogenes the Younger; 10-07-2020 at 10:24 PM. Reason: Add PS |

And perhaps even better I regard "Eve of destruction" from Barry McGuire. And what about "In the year 2525" from Zager & Evans? You can also use "Star spangled banner" from Jimi Hendrix. "Riders on the storm" from the Doors? But please don‘t donate to feminist organizations because they usually do bad propaganda against men and intensify the "civil war" between the sexes. Please have a look at organizations like "A voice for men". I don‘t want to politicize this thread but I just give you a very meaningful quote from Hillary Clinton: Quote:
So if you are happy about my proposals I would be happy if you ignore feminist organizations.

You can use this tune if you'd like. Not the artwork though. That was done by MB's own Poor Old Po.

Do you have any suggestions for where I can go to get to good quality tracks of these songs without paying huge royalty fees for this not-for-profit project? I think I need mostly instrumentals. I worry that the vocals will compete with the narrations. Quote:
As a white male, I could join a women's group or a minority group. I chose to join a women's group. To make a long story short, what I learned was that our society and culture is heavily geared in favor of men. It is not necessarily geared against women, as it is against many minorities, but this actually makes the solution more difficult in some ways, because the barriers are mostly covert or barely visible. Hillary Clinton is a good example of your point about the political left shooting itself in the foot (and sometimes in the head). She is elitist, arrogant, and corrupt. So I would never support an organization that had her mindset. Anyway, I doubt this project is going to generate much in the way of profits. Do you know if it is appropriate for me to post the link to the first of my YouTube videos? I want to give anyone who cares some idea of the project and what music would be appropriate. Thanks very much for your suggestions and observations. |
