Formula/pattern about when to use E#, Fb, B# or Cb
 

I am a programmer and also a musician.
I am writing a program where in a part I need to pick the scale (it can be in any greek mode) and display it correctly to the user. But I couldn’t find a pattern or formula to know when to use E#, Fb, B# or Cb in the scales. Please help me.
