I love Bob Dylan's music but I find him overrated as a lyricist actually. Some of his lyrics are great; it's just that the way people praise him as rock n roll's great poet is pretty unwarranted

This is were The Byrds step in: Bob Dylan's songs without him singing. Say wha...? Yeah, I know it's too good to be true. The Byrds Play Dylan is one of the best compilations ever.

I might try that, I like that album and it's been ages since I've listened to it. I don't remember being particularly struck by any of the lyrics. Most of his lyrics that move me are from Blonde on Blonde I think, things like I Want You, One of Us Must Know, Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands
