Oxygene is always my go-to when I need a jar jar fix. It was nice to listen to another for a change. Thanks.

Date Palms - Dusted Sessions

Nothing extraordinary but they really capture a mood well.

That album was Toumani Diabaté & Ballaké Sissoko - New Ancient Strings. I added it to the original post too.

I'll also rec William Parker & Hamid Drake - Volume 2: Summer Snow

Do you have a clear front runner as your favorite classical guitarist nea?

I like this guy a lot. He’s sort of like the AC/DC of space music. You get what you expect.

Enjoyed it. Thanks

No, not really. It's a somewhere between Christopher Parkening and John Williams.

Christopher Parkening: I listened to him more than anyone in that genre. I like his technique, and tone. He never plays mechanically like he's just playing to get the notes right. He's always articulate and expressive.

John Williams: I knew some standard Classical guitar pieces, but I never really delved into that world album-wise. John Williams' "Music from ..." is the first Classical guitar album I bought. I found it in a dollar bin at this comic book/record store. I was lucky enough to see him in concert as well. If you look at my location it says "Les Barricades Mystérieuses" it's my subtle homage to John William who (imho) does the definitive version.

9. Gazzara ‎– Play Me My Song (Gazzara Plays Genesis) (2014)
