OK, hands down you know more Burl Ives than I do. Kudos to you for your Burl Ives knowledge, but I can't believe you left out Diesel Smoke, Dangerous Curves!?! That song as an encore would definitely raise the roof!

Burl Ives And Grady Martin And His Slew Foot Five - Diesel Smoke, Dangerous Curves

I remember Big Rock Candy Mountain by Harry McClintock from the movie, O Brother, Where Art Thou?
I'm more familiar with a couple of those songs by other artists:
"Frankie and Johnny" by Mississippi John Hurt
"Going Down The Road Feeling Bad" by Elizabeth Cotten
I love those songs.

My favorite Ives song is Girlie Magazine (in which the song's protagonist sings to his grandkids "don't go telling Grandma/what I read in my easy chair").

Burl Ives has many faces but I like his sincere straight forward folk song approach best.

Searching for Girlie Magazine (a song I don’t know) I found this:

Which looks really interesting.

Anyone who doesn't like the Beach Boys and Marvin Gaye gets burned to death in a church.
