I’m going to rate Into the Arctic Dreamtime 4/5 Stars. It could have been a fiver but I feel like the guitar hijinx on the final track, which is probably Kaiser, is unnecessary. Maybe I’m being a sourpuss but I don’t feel like the record needs any sort of climax. But on different day in a different mood I might be like ****in-a he’s killing it. Great recommendation. Thanks |

Stop Freeze Wait Eat is good as I hoped.

I have been so SO hyped over Ozzy's new album. He is my all-time favorite artist, and in my opinion he still sounds amazing. Plus, his collaboration with Elton on 'Ordinary Man' is an absolute dream come true for me.

Peter Evans, Joel Ross, Nick Jozwiak & Savannah Harris - Being & Becoming
Not as free as Evans usually is, but still quite experimental. Mindblowing compositions, obviously lots of room for improv as well. This is why I love Jazz. So fresh, so fun. Sorry, Hawk, only the first track is streamable. |
https://seikomart.bandcamp.com/album/planet-loria This is an amusing campy concept album designed to mimic electronic movie soundtracks from the 80’s. 3/5 |
Really getting into Fetch The Bolt Cutters, very chaotic, very interesting.

https://i.postimg.cc/mDFjtTK3/6697-D...-A36816-D7.jpg https://rebekahhoodsava.bandcamp.com/album/emerge Emerge by Rebekah Hood-Sava Released on BandCamp yesterday all cello performed in multiple tracks Each song follows a pattern of starting with a repetitive theme and then layers with emotive solos, all of them quite good. The hooks are catchy but never distracting or annoying simply comfortably attention grabbing. Sentimental is usually used with negative connotations but she pulls it off in an intelligent not overdone successful way. All-in-all an excellent work of original neoclassical compositions. I think I could see ant and nea going for this. Maybe lisna. Might be a bit too conservative for grindy frown and exo. |
https://benlukasboysen.bandcamp.com/album/mirage-2 Also goes by Hecq. Long time consistent composer on the ambient drone and adjacent scenes comes up with another winner. Sometimes a little to beat centered for my taste but still good. Could see this appealing to fans of both Tangerine Dream and Jean-Michel Jarre. One thing that makes this a good listen is that each song is distinct and they’re solid compositions throughout. I think ant is probably the member most likely to dig this. |
https://andrewtasselmyer.bandcamp.co...m/may-mornings
May Mornings by Andrew Tasselmyer not pure glitch but glitchy sounding experimental ambient good listen |
https://healingsoundpropagandist.ban...und-underwater Ambient/New Age Very slow moving and peaceful. The tonal patterns of melody or whatever you call the movement of sound at this pace is beautiful and engaging. |
https://catswithhats.bandcamp.com/album/300000 MB resident musical genius Key released another strong winner here. An 18 minute experimental drone piece with plenty going on to keep the listener engaged. 5/5 highest recommendation |

It’s definitely you that deserves the thanks.
You’re not even exactly in these genres but 99% of the music I call drone or ambient and especially dark ambient these days fit such an expected format. I like those formats tbh but what you do doesn’t fit easily in a category - I guess the difference is it feels personalized - like you’re not trying to work within a framework but you’re expressing something individualized instead of formatted. I suppose many people try to do that but it usually fails. In fact, it almost always fails not to lean in heavily to a genre but you succeed at it. Like it’s not just harsh or just drone or just ambient. To pull that off successfully is rare. |
http://exospheremusic.bandcamp.com/a...yond-the-stars
Take this. It’s really damn good but it sounds exactly like you expect it to sound There’s nothing at all wrong with that but it’s a tier below what you’re doing |
that genuinely means a lot. you're right - i tend to just make music that i find interesting and if others find it interesting, that's a plus. honestly, my process is pretty simple. figure out what fits together and just mess with it in audacity until it fits the structure i want to go for. then the fun part of adding stuff to it begins and i can see how things sound together. it's not really all that strenuous or annoying. more so, it's a lot of fun to experiment with what sounds good together and what doesn't. i'm usually pretty satisfied with the result. but, i'd be lying if i said i didn't delete projects halfway through. sometimes that happens.

Future Nostalgia
I don't care what anyone says but the Future Nostalgia album by Dua Lipa is incredible. The only song that's kinda lame is "Boys Will Be Boys". It's not the lyrics I care about it but the production value. Like the work and creativity that it took to put together each individual track cannot be ignored

VA "ECSTACY & TRANSMUTATIONS" Vanity Productions, ANFS, and Morah on a single release? YES Super limited edition vinyl on new S&M-ish Columbian art and music label that does events? YES YES YES |
Klara Lewis "Ingrid" It starts out with a single cello piece, and a part is ripped out a minute in and repeated and mangled till it hits the red, and fizzles out. The low end frequencies are very Stars of The Lid-esque, and some obvious comparisons to William Basinski with the repeated loop. It's a lot shorter than a Basinski track, so doesn't over stay it's welcome. Really good EP for people that love drone, and minimalist classical music. |
