I didn’t want to come right and say it

But I might check it out - if it gets hyped up I’m like that

Mindy 02-23-2020 07:21 PM

I feel bad for not listening to it now, don't wanna let my mindfulness guy down.

OccultHawk 02-23-2020 08:10 PM

Honestly I like everything he recommends

Don’t always like it as much as he does but still

Like that guy who got bit by a rattler trekking the countryside, I liked learning about that dude: The Pos

The Last Song Of My life by Tori Kudo

http://anarchiveslabel.bandcamp.com/...ong-of-my-life

https://i.postimg.cc/jSnhBDpm/1-CA97...94-C97-AA2.jpg

Free jazz expression of Japanese trad. Its laidback skillful approach kind of reminds me the Art Ensemble of Chicago

Hinterland (SB019) by Cyril Meysson

https://soleilsbleus.bandcamp.com/al...nterland-sb019

Experimental. Completely atonal but not extreme level harsh. I’m about 2/3 through it a thoroughly enjoying it.

resurrection by peter james

http://peterjames9.bandcamp.com/album/resurrection

another one of my ambient picks

admittedly this will probably only appeal to big fans of the genre but it’s still really good - most of it soft new age style ambient but some of it is dark ambient with an intense droney distorted electric guitar. Adds some good flavor to this.

Transmissions (The Inbetween World) by Black Knight Satellite

https://bloxhamtapes.bandcamp.com/al...nbetween-world

Instrumental hippy music. They name drop Bert Jansch but I’m hearing more Sandy Bull and Spacemen3. Not technical wizards but still a damn fine listen- especially if psychedelic primitivism is one of your jams.

Hill, Flower, Fog by Emily A. Sprague

Quote:

Spring rain -
under trees
a crystal stream. [Basho]

this is a collection of music made during the week of march 9th - 16th, 2020. i found myself suddenly a part of that stream which flows now separate from the reality we used to know. i want to share these explorations because in my own experience of fear and strangeness, making distant, encouraging, and astral sounds brought me some light through the leaves. it is meant as a soundtrack to these new days, practices, distances, losses, ends, and beginnings. i hope it helps calm find a way.
Kind of like how religion brings a sense of community and therefore comfort to people. It’s ambient music more than traditional new age but it has these clever little melodic lines thrown in and a good melody goes a long way.

Curly Castro and Premrock over Elucid production, and it's some of the best work that I've heard from all those involved. ffo billy woods, Dälek, and Cannibal Ox.

I listened to this tonight and loved it. I've been digging a lot of dark ambient lately and this recent Cryo Chamber release is pretty great:

SHXCXCHCXSH "VOOO EP"

Just came out a few days ago, really happy to hear the first two tracks in their entirety after their hypnotic Boiler Room set. Not as adventurous as AÅÄ, but it hits harder and faster.

Ivar Grydeland & Henry Kaiser - Into The Arctic Dreamtime

Beautiful duo guitar improv. I liked it way more than I expected.
Both musicians have done great stuff but are often hit or miss.
This is a high point for both.
