By my dear friend Virginia, this is some very pastoral and gnomeish ambient influenced heavily by Neutral Milk Hotel. Highly recommend listening my friend is so damn talented.

9. Weatherday - Come In

I love this and how it feels like the sequel to Teen Suicide. The vocalist sounds very similar to Virginia to me.

8. Girl Band - The Talkies

The next in the group of bands in vein of Daughters like black midi. It's so industrial and features a lot of the sounds I crave for in the genre.

7. Ky Vöss - Space Cadet

Someone else I know that released an album that sounds a lot in the vein of Grimes but with more EBM influence, it's very cool and Swallow the Batteries gets stuck in my head often.

6. Denzel Curry - Zuu

Easily some of the best rap bangers of this year.

5. Angel-Ho - Death Becomes Her

An album I found looking into the worst rated deconstructed club albums of this year, Baby Tee is such a ****ing bop.

4. Tyler the Creator - Igor

As someone who listened to this as one of the last albums with their ex-partner on a final attempt to connect with them, this album definitely hits me hard.

3. Charli XCX - Charli

It was my top album before I gave it the ol second listen and realized how much filler there is. White Ferrari in particular is v overrated.

2. 100 Gecs - 1000 Gecs

Do I need to explain this one?

1. Gloo - XYZ

I've played this album so many times now, the whole thing is infectious and wildly eclectic, showing off the talents of all three in a very concise and easily replayable package.

Honorable mentions: Jai Paul, Warmduscher, Sonder, Jimmy, Flume

Whatever this year went hard

You should at least listen to the Girl Band one, it's cool and you might like it

I was so incredibly underwhelmed by this one. **** don't bang, it barely even thuds.
