This one starts off quite disconcerting with its vocals that alternate between harsh whispers and distorted screams, all this with a madman banging on the piano in the background. Someone is...frustrated.
The inclusion of a pretty melody played on acoustic guitar and sung so prettily quickly defuses the tense situation, though, giving the listener time to regroup. I think it's just a ploy to pull me in deeper before putting the boot in...let's wait and see. Gotta put a filter on your heart, bro. And I'm supposed to laugh at your boo-hoos, right? Is this the kind of music that helps you kill yourself or prevents you from doing so? Is it an invitation or merely cathartic? I honestly don't know, not being a miserable fuck. Dude, it's been eight years. Are you going to do it, or are you just crying for attention? 5/10 |

Wow you're not even going to review your own album? Super weak sauce, especially for a mod.

I am all into sad songs about rainy days. I am in my element listening to songs with melancholy melodies. I gravitate towards Minimal Wave, Dark Wave and Gothic Rock, but this album didn't work for me. (edit: I am not saying that Giles Corey plays in those styles. I wouldn't know how to classify him as an artist, or them as a band. Discogs has Giles Corey tagged with Genre: Rock, Folk, World, & Country Style: Acoustic, Shoegaze, Folk) a very neutral 5/10
