women who sing male POV songs by men, without changing the gender-specific pronouns
This is the 2nd edit of this post. The videos in the original OP were not "spoilered." In the 1st re-edit they were. Now in the 2nd re-edit—or 2nd edit—I've put in the names as per my later posts. I've also added (I think) 26 more videos, among them: And I Love Her - The Beatles (cover) Eight Days A Week - The Beatles (girls band cover) If I fell (The Beatles cover) Please Please Me - The Beatles (girls band cover) Ticket To Ride - The Beatles (cover) Lez Zeppelin - Rock'n roll - LIVE PARIS 2013 Lez Zeppelin performing "The Ocean". 【Zepparella】 Bring It On Home (Concord - 10/7/17) ALYONA (THE OCEAN) LED ZEPPELIN COVER with Chris Slade (AC/DC) JILLIAN RAE - the Ocean [Led Zeppelin cover] @ 7th Street Entry Lady Zep (a medley of Rock 'n' Roll, Immigrant Song, Communications Breakdown, The Ocean, She's Just a Aoman) Whole Lotta Love - Moby Chick Dollface ~ Walk This Way (Aerosmith) Cover ThundHerStruck "Shook Me All Night Long" Chick Quest – Savant Garde (Music Video) | Heartbreaking Bravery CCR Susie-Q Susie Q (Creedence Clearwater Revival Cover) - by ILARIA Jimmy Buffett- Margaritaville cover Sister Golden Hair - America (cover) Dollface ~ My Sharona (The Knack) Cover Acoustic cover of Teenage Kicks by The Undertones Fiona Apple - Angel (Jimi Hendrix Cover) 1997 Izy Riff - Angel (Jimi Hendrix) Cover Looks That Kill, Motley Crue female cover So Projet Gabriel - Steam (Peter Gabriel tribute band) I'll probably remove this italicized message in a few weeks. Also included are (generally) gender-specific proper nouns, and/or where a good majority of people giving a decent listen to a song would agree that she's (or they're, in the case of a group of women) singing about another woman (or women). Of course (many of) these songs are spiced with romance and/or eroticism (and/or, perhaps, love too): "Something in the way she woos me...," "She told me to come, but I was already there." from a thread of mine in another forum: women who sing male POV songs by men, without changing the gender-specific pronouns Perhaps the best replies to my posts in this thread are: #21 and #32. Dude, 75 YouTube embeds in one post is waaaaaaaaaaay too much. Put some of that in a spoiler tag for the sake of those with crappy computers. Rule of thumb is like 5 videos or less.

Actually after viewing some of these my gaydar makes me wonder if some of these aren't lesbian cultural appropriation. Or my gaydar's broke
Edit: wait you put Veruca Salt in there, that's cool. That band has more gay innuendoes than Buffy and Faith That Somebody song is too soppy for me though |
(my 30th post)
My number of embeds was mentioned in Political Discussions for Adults Political Discussions for Adults (page 141) If I had my way, I'd post it, but apparently, I can't link here, I can only embed. Pity. While I don't want to cramp the styles of tablet or phone users—or desktops weaker than the one I bought used and am using—I wonder if the technological singularity that's reportedly just over-the-horizon will be able to handle 75 Youtube videos—I don't look forward to seeing a lot of stuff one would have to click to just see the names of the videos. Can anybody show me an examples of posts with videos with spoiler tags? I hope this is not a problem, because less than 50 hours after joining this site, I've taken a liking to it. Quote:
Another fantasy of that song is a remake of the song where in the guitar-solo-of-sorts they take a feature from Tubular Bells and instead have lots of stringed instruments playing that riff: guitar, double-speed guitar, slightly distorted electric guitar, mandolin, violin, banjo, erhu, et al. :D Quote:

Plus even if tech wasn't an issue, people are more likely to gloss over your posts if it seems like there's more video than input. We want to hear what you have to say, we can look up the videos ourselves if we need to. On that subject I don't think that anyone is really interested in your other forum. If you want to make similar threads, just let the MB version be its own thing. Glad you're liking the site man, hoping to see you stick around. Oh and you are actually able to link if you like, we just have an auto-parse function for youtube videos that make that kind of a pain. |

Good to see that you used spoilers.
Also, you may just want to consider being a bit more succinct in your posts. Getting people online to actually read more than a simple paragraph is a major task, so having a dozen videos, multiple photos, huge numbers of quotes, etc. means that you're expecting people to think you're automatically and extraordinarily interesting. That's a poor assumption in this day and age. |

A few of the long ones are long due to multiple replies as I at times actually try to read everyones' posts, while some of the goldfish might read only the posts on the page they're on. As I've put it, this ain't Twitter, or at least not supposed to be Twitter—though I could be wrong. Also, part of it is pick and choose—I don't actually expect people to listen to all of my videos; and as threads here last for years, I'm anticipating they being in search results, such as Google. Quote:
Poor computers and devices—they just can't take all that info. Btw, is there an ignore button you guys can put me on so you needn't suffer my verbosity and embeds? (I really need to learn how to start my own wiki.) |
Before he was tossed, we recently had a guy here who felt the need to school us all with the latest "news" by posting huge numbers of links to various stories that were, more often than not, fantasies. I think many people just skipped over them because they were a kind of unfocussed laundry list that he felt we all needed to be aware of - thereby completely obfuscating any real meaning or desire for discussion here - except to complain about how inane his lists were. So, if you are here to entertain yourself, then go right ahead with your abundant "verbosity," but if you'd like to actually become part of a community of discussion (instead of treating it like a constant mental dumping ground), then you may want to rethink your intentions.
|
Quote:
I think I'm participating at least somewhat. "treating it like a constant mental dumping ground"? I make a list of videos with somewhat esoteric criteria, though most of the videos are quite listenable; I refer to a site I've spent at least several 10x as much time than I have here; and it's less than 72 hours since I've joined this site and just getting used to it. You somewhat make it sound like I'm some global warming denier who's ****ting bogus stuff all over the place. Btw, can you give me a few links to this guy's threads or posts so I can see how similar/different they are to mine? |
^  Oh Fwrick!
(thanks :)) |
He was an anti-vaxxer who thought Hitler was a pawn of the Zionists so you're at least ahead of that curb.

Maria reviews the video's in the original post of this thread- part one
Why? Because why not Crimson and Clover First one - An essential part of gay culture. Joan Jett is the leather-clad lesbian of whom all closeted girls hope she comes swaggernig into their lives to take them away on a motorbike Second one - To this dear singer: a leather jacket does not make you Joan Jett (I know, I tried). Especially with that voice. And bald guys walking by in the background. Good luck with the leg cramps you seem to have. Third one - Don't we get a music video? What's up with her hair? Whatever Fourth one - the only stars in this band are on that guitar. A tambourine? Those backing vocals are really... out there. At least they seem to find their own music funny Fifth one - Is it one of Miley's provocative image publicity stunts? Is it genuine? I don't know. Joan does not look into it a 3:18 Something First one - These overly sincere looks into the camera make me uncomfortable. At least she has freckles Second one - This girl looks like a quasi-gay Luna Lovegood. That instrument and tempo do not fit this song, my dear. Love is not a walk on a beach with palms. The singing of the guitar solo was pretty funny though. Didn't stay for the talking. Where does the background singing voice come from? #spooked Third one - Another ukelele?! This one seems to understand better that love is pain though Fouth one - ANOTHER UKELELE. What about this song makes people think 'ukelele'? The lead singer's voice is pleasant but stop trying to seduce the camera. The nonchalant 14 year old drummer chick is cool Fifth - "something: a beatles cover" that looks adorably pompous. This chick's nerdy gay look is adorable too. Another mysterious background voice Sixth - Oh no Holly that voice is too chipmunk-y. This guitar line gets sung by what sounds like apathetic angels? Seventh - WWWP might be able to translate the Spanish, I'm not. That one girl sits awkwardly when the other sings. She should have played a tambourine. That whistling hahahaha Ain't she sweet *David Attenborough voice*: Here we see a young closet lesbian before escaping her gender-normative environment. This girl is like a walking meme. Let's call her Stacey Bracey. Is it adorable or cringy? Both, but I guess she gets away with the cringiness because she's just a kid I saw her standing there Looks like they tried to build a sort of cavern club set. I don't get the name, you girls don't look like twins, or Mona Lisa I've seen enough for now. |

:D :thumb:    Thanks for the effort! Keep in mind that one doesn't have to watch all of the videos I link. If one watched 5% I'd be happy—which makes your effort particularly stand out. (Thanks) First one - An essential part of gay culture. Joan Jett is the leather-clad lesbian of whom all closeted girls hope she comes swaggernig into their lives to take them away on a motorbike Agreed. Hair more like Pat Benatar circa 1980 that perhaps Carole Pope ever had. Susanna Hoffs's eyes. As for leather-clad lesbian of whom all closeted girls hope she comes swaggering into their lives to take them away on a motorbike: Spoiler for k.d.lang - Just Keep Me Moving ( wild planet mix ):
Second one - To this dear singer: a leather jacket does not make you Joan Jett (I know, I tried). Especially with that voice. And bald guys walking by in the background. Good luck with the leg cramps you seem to have. Agreed. I'm perhaps one of those rare foot fetishist who finds high heels a turn-off. Maybe docs might make her look more edgy—hiking boots are also good. (source and for bigger pics) https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/F..._mcste_040.jpg https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped..._mcste_040.jpg Third one - Don't we get a music video? What's up with her hair? Whatever I was thinking—perhaps erroneously—that the audio might be better. Sometimes YT videos with stills have better audios than the video ones. At times I like black hair when it's a bit frosted. (See my introductory thread—the post with Peter Steele—while it lasts.) Fourth one - the only stars in this band are on that guitar. A tambourine? Those backing vocals are really... out there. At least they seem to find their own music funny Sweet Jane. Starts off sounding a bit like a mash. Pity Margop Timmins wasn' there. Spoiler for Cowboy Junkies - Sweet Jane (Official Video):
Fifth one - Is it one of Miley's provocative image publicity stunts? Is it genuine? I don't know. Joan does not look into it a 3:18 Probably. Partially, I presume: she's likely having fun, at least in a sardonic way. (I wonder if Joan would like to do Miley—just my imagination, running away with me.) Something First one - These overly sincere looks into the camera make me uncomfortable. At least she has freckles Something in the way she looks at the camera. :D Second one - This girl looks like a quasi-gay Luna Lovegood. That instrument and tempo do not fit this song, my dear. Love is not a walk on a beach with palms. The singing of the guitar solo was pretty funny though. Didn't stay for the talking. Where does the background singing voice come from? #spooked She multi-tracks. You'll see it in the other videos of hers I posted—kinda funny. Third one - Another ukelele?! This one seems to understand better that love is pain though Of all of them that cover Something, her voice sounds (to me at least) most like Natalie Merchant. What's that thing on her ukulele: a capo? Fouth one - ANOTHER UKELELE. What about this song makes people think 'ukelele'? The lead singer's voice is pleasant but stop trying to seduce the camera. The nonchalant 14 year old drummer chick is cool It might be the person behind the camera. :D Sixth - Oh no Holly that voice is too chipmunk-y. This guitar line gets sung by what sounds like apathetic angels? It's almost a capella. Seventh - WWWP might be able to translate the Spanish, I'm not. That one girl sits awkwardly when the other sings. She should have played a tambourine. That whistling hahahaha WWWP: wazat? Otherwise, agreed. Ain't she sweet *David Attenborough voice*: Here we see a young closet lesbian before escaping her gender-normative environment. This girl is like a walking meme. Let's call her Stacey Bracey. Is it adorable or cringy? Both, but I guess she gets away with the cringiness because she's just a kid  (Wizards only beyond this point.) When I re-edit the OP to include the names, I'll not only restore the link to [that other forum] but also to your post. Maria reviews the video's in the original post of this thread- part two
I've just seen a face First one - The intro piano sounds like it's stuttering. These girls think they're cute; people who think they're cute never are. The hand movements and faces they make are uncalled for. The unsettling transition to that aggressive ending message almost gave me a heart attack Second one - Her voice reminds me of Sarah Michelle Gellar trying to sing in the Buffy musical, which is not a compliment. SMG did not sing voluntarily. This woman does. Norwegian Wood First one - I like angry Alanis, but "is not it good" Alanis I like not. Second one - Here's Lesbian Luna Lovegood again. The editing confuses me. I actually kind of like the guitar sound. No tutorial at the end this time, instead we're thanked for watching with sparkles. How cute She's a Woman Luna at it again. She also drums apparently, my respect for her increases a bit. More sparkles at the end Ticket to Ride I'm getting used to Luna's editing, which means I've watched more of these than I should have. Meh. Lez Zeppelin Not a fan of the camera angles. It's not flattering darlings. That drummer is not what I'd want to face when I'd start to fake an orgasm, but we all have our preferences I guess. Gonna skip the other Lez Zeppelin songs because that just would be too much of a good thing Actually I'm gonna skip to Lillix - What I like about you because of reasons. I enjoyed this one in a trashy pop-punk sort of way. These girls rule. And the music video has a young Lindsey Lohan I can't handle this <3 I'll leave it at this high point |
