For half a second before the video loaded I was confused about your description of Cheap Trick.

Nea - Love the first song, its weird and fun, and a great example of minimalism that works if the bare bones of a song are strong enough. The next song again has a similar sound, but slower and darker and more atmospheric. I like it, but it doesn't stand out as much, I think.

Bat - Ok, here we go. Faux Indian sounds to start it off, nice. And the properly pretentious lyrics, I would have been disappointed if it was any different. What European bliss? The metal-pop chorus is a pity. Still this is great fun actually. The second song is sometimes entertaining, but not angry enough. I miss the insanity of some of the Jagged Little Pill songs. Wait, she tried out dance pop influences? lol. This one is more properly angry, but it's also pretty awful. The intro of the fourth song promises to make up for that. But no, not really. She has a voice like a banshee, why doesn't she use that here? Then we get a piano ballad. Nope. Skipping that one. The next one is at least catchy, but again, why so tame? I like it better than most of these songs though. The most exciting thing to happen in the next song is a random chord change halfway through, that's not a good sign. Well, and as throughout the rest of the album, the lyrics are sometimes entertaining in a ridiculous way. There's not really anything else to say about the next song. For now I can't handle much more of this, so I'll leave it at that. I'm still of the opinion that All I Really Want is the greatest thing Alanis has ever done, and this doesn't come close.
I'll do the cheap trick thing too, since you posted it: it's ok, as far as this kind of music goes for me.

Trollheart - The first song is quite beautiful, especially the organ, which obviously makes it sound like church music. Not as much a fan of the echoing voice, but that's a matter of taste, and the music underneath is very pretty. It struck me that the song has an average length but feels very short. Still not a Judie Tzuke fan, due to the sound. So 80's, in a way that's not to my taste. However, the song itself is quite nice. I might have found this pretty if it had been recorded in a different way. The lyrics sound a bit cheesy though. Not a fan of the voice of Aslan's singer, and also not really of the production. Are they named after the lion from Narnia? The song is ok, but does not stand out to me in any particular way. Rory Gallagher sounds like an old-fashioned rock 'n roll guy. Not really my genre, and I don't know much about it, but I could dance to this. It sound like that's what this song is about. I tried a Flogging Molly song once because I love the Pogues, and I wasn't really into it. I don't know why, because this is a blast. Nice. I can see why you'd like the last song, but again I can't really get over the 80's sound. Why did the people at back then decide that drums should echo?

Tristan - I like this a lot, it stays constant in a relaxing way but at the same time it's very dynamic and there's a lot going on. And it swings.

It's definitely my favorite track on the album, this is the club mix but you should really look into it if you liked that track.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Yeah I only heard it the day before I posted it. Thought it was pretty amazing. Don't hear too much of pipe organs these days.

Meh, win some lose some. Judie ain't for everyone. It's actually a song about whale hunting, in case you didn't get that: she's singing from the point of view of the whale. I love that song.

Don't know about the name, but yeah, probably. I don't know any other instances of the name. Again, worth a try.

Rory was a bluesman, perhaps Ireland's greatest ever. The song is about motorbike riding - shin kicker being I expect the slip of the boot as you kick the starter.

Yeah really getting into Celtic Punk these days.

I think the echo is needed for this one, and I love the harmonica.

Thanks for listening. Glad you at least got something out of it.

Eventually all terrible rap of any kind will be the only music I listen to.
