I don’t have a hard copy but would your record store be interested in a dude with a PREMIUM Spotify account? I’ll sell you one record listen a day for just $30 a month.

It's pretty swoll, but it ain't Rumours or Aja. I'll give it some time.

Hmn....actually, scratch Aja, The Royal Scam is the better album. It's snarkier.

Norman ****ing Rockwell has Mariners Apartment Complex and Venice Bitch (which caught my attention immediately), but I dunno if that's enough to make the whole album "unassailable". It's top 20 of the year for sure though.

Take it up with Rolling Stone.

Quote:
Norman ****ing Rockwell sounds like a whole suite of songs conceived in the Seventies twilight when all songs on the radio where about L.A. no matter where the singer was from, simply because it was universally understood that L.A. was the place where American dreams went to die. Everybody knew “L.A.” referred not to a city but to a labyrinth of AM radio hits about small-town romantics who run off to the city and get so poisoned they can never go home, so they end up stranded in a Steely Dan deep cut.

I'm still in love with the opening song, I guess I'll give the rest of the album a proper chance

They’re saying she successfully captures the feeling of living in a reality so shitty it’s like being trapped in a Steely Dan song. This isn’t going to be like that income gap discussion where you lacked the reading comprehension skills to keep up, is it?

It’s going down as a universally acclaimed classic. The way things are fragmented these days a record like this is very rare.
