Terror Management & Hiding Places

Right now I’m thinking Billy Woods is the heavyweight hip hop champion of 2019. Still things I haven’t heard (like the new earl) and will have to relisten to other stuff but his rap style is so confident masculine and complete and his content is fully potent. Unassailable

He doesn’t put a vapor anything tag on his bandcamp but I still think it fits in broader interpretation of that movement. There’s a lot going on here musically but it also gels and grooves. An experimental composer who refreshingly embraces the “it don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing” philosophy. Highly recommended

Warmduscher - Tainted Lunch

Really fun rock album that goes into punky, funky, electronic, and krautrock territories among others. Highly recommended.
