Here's one of my favorite albums released in 2017. The debut album from "Combo Chimbita" rooted in Colombia and currently based in New York City.

WHOA, I didn't expect that level of coolness. I really find crazy how Colombia and Brazil have such similar cultural identities due to African diaspora! Hope Combo Chimbita come some day to São Paulo, they sound great performing live.

Here's another NYC based group which released one of my favorite albums of 2018...

This one is an album I found in 2003, in a Mexican shop located in Austin, Texas. I took a chance and bought it based on the info on the hype sticker on the cover.
It's a solo project by a Guatemalan guitarist named Juancarlos Barrios. Definitely not a guitar oriented album, though.

The other video I posted here was removed by the band and they don't have anything else uploaded so I decided to substitute it with another song from Combo Chimbita.
