For no justifiable reason I actually love The Eagles.

But REO Speedwagon can surely rot in hell, where their music was originally conceived.

I should never be berated for my Tin Machine fetish if you love The Eagles. I do like the track 'I Can't Tell You Why' but that is it.

I actually have to admit to having been entirely wrong about Hunky Dory. It's way, way better than I thought it was. Now I am puzzled as to why exactly it left such an awful first impression. I can't quite put a finger on what it must have been.

Mind you I like the first 'Tin Machine' album and as far as I can tell, I am the only one on these forums who does.
Good man, 90's Bowie...
Outside and Earthling are both top drawer, Earthling may be hideously derivative but no other 60-year-old (however old he was) could have done a drum n' bass album in 1997 and made it credible and song-oriented to boot.

Is anybody else as narked (yes it's a word I made up) that he never completed the cycle of three albums that Outside was supposed to kick off?

I'm also very partial to Hours (it's short, laid back and there's not a bad tune on there). Unfortunately Black Tie White Noise is hideously dated (not in a nostalgic 90's way like the rest for me) and is mostly just a bit silly IMO.

Has anyone seen Basquiat?
Bowie plays Andy Warhol.
He's good and hilarious.

Default David Bowie and 30th Anniversary Editions

Ok, so I am interested in purchasing physical copies of Bowie's special edition releases of Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, and Diamond Dogs. I'm curious to know if anyone else on the forum has purchased these because I want to be sure that buying these is a good choice since they're fairly expensive.

First, I woul like to know whether or not these discs are copy protected? I've read several reviews of these products and I hear different answers. Some say it is protected, others say its only the Canadian release that is protected, or that their computer was able to read the disc regardless of any copy control on the discs.

Second, I would like to know if the liner notes/booklet for these discs are as nice as I have read they are? The liner notes are mostly what I want the physical copy for. I will probably buy all three discs used, which is still about $30.00-$35.00, instead of $65.00-$70.00 new. Anyway, thank you in advance for any answers you can give me.

Big bump clearly.

Now yesterday I completed my Bowie official album collection by getting Stage, at a steal at £3.69 on Amazon considering how long I've tried to find it at a good price.

Anyways, basically, I don't have any of his greatest hits packages, so I'm curious, if like so many artists of that era, did he have many standalone singles, what are they? Amazon has like 27 pages of stuff for him on their Amazon MP3, so surely I must be missing some of his main stuff, disregard if they show up on any of his live albums, I'd like the studio recordings.

Also, if I'm missing anything else, don't hesitate to bring it up.

I have;
All the official studio albums.
Best at the Beeb
Stage
David Live
Reality Tour
Santa Monica '72
Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture

Looking for the ultra fanboy completest collection, eh? Sadly, I'm not a big enough fan of David Bowie to tell you anything. From that, though, I can say that I do have a few albums and have always intended to explore him a bit more. It just hasn't happened yet.

There's a 4 disc bootleg version of the BBC discs that contains double the amount of songs included on the official BBC version.
