It's alright but a bit too sparse for my tastes. The Q U I R K Y elements are nice but they're not tied close enough together to create anything interesting enough for me to latch onto. Ambient dub stuff doesn't really appeal to me too much and I've found like half of The Orb's catalog to be mediocre at best.

Well that's because The Orb is dull and trite.
I'm rarely that into ambient dub but Raime's an exception. They just have such meticulous and interesting atmospheres.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that- I like U.F.Orb and some parts of Orbus Terrarum- but I definitely agree they're not the most adventurous or exciting group out there. Their new album is one of my favorites from this year, though. Maybe that's cause of how little things I truly enjoyed from 2018, so I could be talking straight out of my ass. |

I think everyone has a gateway genre into other types of music. Prog rock was mine. I don't like it nearly as much as I used to but there are some great bands I'll still give credit to when the cards are down. |

I've seen these guys' name floating around every now and again during my quest for nu jazz but I never actually gave them a listen. I like how they prioritize a good groove, indicating an acid jazz influence as that's kinda the genre's trademark. It's nothing too groundbreaking but I don't really expect it to be. It's a good deviation from the more abstract Norweigan stuff I'm used to and alot more akin to an instrumentation-oriented group like Skalpel, who are ****ing awesome.
