Thumbs up Good Songs from Bad Albums

Ever find a banger track or two on an album you dislike? Give some examples!

I'll start off with an old enemy of mine:

Hate this thing. Waters' self-pitying wankery from front to back.

That being said- I like Not Now John. I've always had a fancy for harder-edged Floyd tracks and, even though the backup singers are a bit irritating, I still giggled like a schoolgirl the first time I heard "**** ALL THAT". Stupid but okay song.

There's probably several examples, but since I've been listening to electronic music lately the first two to come to mind are these:

4x4=12 is the only mediocre album in deadmau5's discography imo, but this song is so damn good. Makes sense that it was originally from the Everything is Complicated EP in 2006.

lol I know both of us are going to agree with this one. Disc 2 of The Altogether is a masterpiece, but disc one is mostly mediocre. Meltdown on the other hand, this song is one of Orbital's absolute best. I love all the creative uses of different sounds as beats.

You chose the wrong Floyd record.

Nah I like the three good tracks on WYWH, the Machine being my favorite, but the fact that they're bookended by boring **** does frustrate me. Still, 3 good tracks to 2 bad make it an okay record overall in my book.

Nah, Welcome to the Machine is the only redeemable part of the record and even then it's just because of the keyboard solo.

I respect that opinion. What's your favorite PF album, Frown?

I could post a ton of songs here probably, but this one comes to mind right now:

Alice in chains - Private Hell - from Black Gives Way to Blue

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n57guzLtQmc

The only song I'll bother with from this album.

I think I've mentioned this on MB before, but I love this song. The album, however, is complete garbage. None of the melancholy atmosphere of this song. None of the quirkiness or catchiness. Nothing but plodding barroom rawk.

I love The Final Cut, but "Not Now John" is my least favorite song on the album.
