Answer to #2: I've listened to several Toto albums at this point, so I don't think it's fair to expect much more from me. It would count as dismissive if I'd only skimmed, but that's far from what I've actually done. If I beat myself over the head with Toto's music again and again but still don't connect with it, then I'm not likely to suddenly love them. Never say never, of course. I took a long time to warm to some artists/bands. |

21 At 33, Jump Up!, Breaking Hearts and Ice On Fire are similar to what she was doing between '80 to '85.

Really good! Would have liked something with slightly better sound quality, but that's live recordings for you. Definitely not a stretch that I would be spinning something just like this on my stereo if I found anything. |

In terms of what sounds go into the mix and the musical ideas of any given moment, I'm into this for sure. But in terms of how the music develops over time, I feel like I'm not getting enough to chew on for a 4 minute track (yeah, yeah I know - I don't get hip hop). And I also felt like the flows (if I'm even using that word correctly) were a little vanilla (Ice! heh heh *sigh*).
I mean, it's fine. I enjoyed it, but if I'm being perfectly honest, I'm not dying to hear more from the artist inn question. |
