Bitch I know I'm your number 3 I was talking to Frown.

Probably incredible to the point of breaking your brain. Hearing that while coming up sounds like something I'm not ready for.

Am I ahead of Qwerty? That's really the only thing that matters to me.

The nice thing about online forums is nobody gives a **** about your taste unless it sucks.

You don’t need taste. You’re a talented artist.

I’m still boycotting you until all your **** is back on Bandcamp

The nice thing about online forums is eventually you realize that even people with "good" taste still have boring taste.

Hipsters are originally the white kids that would go to jazz clubs back in the day when segregation was still a thing and jazz was predominately black.

Now it's meant to be the music nerds that get boners at obscure art and cultures or anything that challenges the norm.

Thanks for not including me on your list. :)
If I was on that list that would be like me winning the WWE belt which one constantly has to fight for to maintain possession. In another words, to be on that list I would feel have to constantly prove myself. But I'm not here to prove myself. I am a freelance music listener, and I'm here to find common ground music-wise.

The top ([X] amount, currently at 3) people that always perk up me ears were/are/were:
  1. Bulbasaur - awol
  2. Goofle - on & off MB, busy with life and career
  3. Sansa - got perma-banned ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks too for taking an interest in what I like and for brief conversations about music to:
  • Frownland
  • Thelonious Monkey
  • WWWP
  • Exo
  • Lisn
  • Ori
  • Paedantic Basterd
  • elph
  • JTF
  • Paul Smeenus
  • Silenzio
edit: forgive me if felt you belong the above list and I left your name out.

Posters on another level:
  • rostasi
  • innerspaceboy

They need more fun themselves, or their taste in music needs more fun? Rostasi is probably one of the more interesting posters here.

OccultHawk 09-15-2018 12:31 PM

I don’t know them personally

Obviously their tastes

I know what you mean as they're a bit "serious business" but I suspect they have plenty of fun with music, they just don't get into the trashy fun afaik. At the very least they dismiss music based on idiosyncratic taste and not boorish elitism. And even rostasi has had good things to say about at least one ICP track so I doubt he's just a snob.

There use to be time when rostasi use to talk to me in plug.dj. The room has slow down considerably and we never cross paths anymore. I remember one time I thought I would test how much he knows so I played Instant Death by Eddie Harris. He not only knew the song he personally knew Eddie Harris and him over his house! That blew my mind.

Besides Jazz musicians he also knew people in the Punk scene as well. He's a wealth of music knowledge and an interesting storyteller if you can him to talk to you.

OccultHawk 09-15-2018 02:16 PM

I fully respect the dude

Don’t think he’s top 5 here though all around

Grindy yeah 5 -

MicShazam 09-15-2018 02:29 PM

Janzsoon is the MB poster that I've found most good music through.

66 as a runner-up, possibly?

Anteater 09-15-2018 02:44 PM

I've got a long history of great recommendations and back n' forth, but a lot of those members have gone on to greener pastures.

MB's current crop of people have decent taste, maybe more diverse overall than the past. What would be truly lame is if we all liked the same things.

I have both lame tastes and superior ones to those around me. Depends on my mood.

SGR 09-15-2018 08:41 PM

Yes.

Just kidding - not really. In fact, I've discovered many of my favorite artists and albums through this site, and in particular, through UrbanHatemonger's famous (infamous?) 'Urban 100'. It was through that list that I discovered what has become my favorite album, the Manic Street Preachers' The Holy Bible and also where I got turned on to the 'group' that would become my favorite band, The Fall.

So in conclusion - no. More precisely, who cares?

MicShazam 09-16-2018 12:29 AM

Of course the question in the OP isn't meant to be taken seriously. It's a borderline meaningless question. MB is made up of a bunch of individuals who, combined, like almost everything under the sun.

Possibly also a lot of brands of snobbery. So far, so internet.

The Batlord 09-16-2018 03:13 AM

We're lame but our tastes are not.

The Batlord 09-16-2018 09:57 AM

That gets funnier every time someone says it.

I guess you were never in an album club and was force to hear other people's music.

No offense MicShazam

windsock 09-16-2018 12:52 PM

Grindy did introduce me to what is becoming one of my favorite bands (Xploding Plastix), so I think that MB has some good tastes and recommendations.
