I know the feeling all too well.

I did a little stint down the street from OJP many years ago. The real kicker was that after serving my small sentence, I was taken to the next county over to go in front of another judge for a traffic warrant. Just when I thought I was free... although I only had to stay behind bars for another 48 hours, it crushed me.

I love Pauls stuff, btw. Thanks for that.

^ I'm sorry to hear that Plankton. I hope your jail time wasn't too traumatic for you - you seem to've survived it ok, so you must have a resilient spirit.

Yes, that particular song by PS is rather underrated imo; probably because the Capeman album was so savaged by the critics, which must've been hard on PS as it had been seven years in the making.

I learned a lot of hard lessons early on.

As long as Paul is happy with his own music, that's all that matters really. Screw the critics.

^ Good call!

Isn't there something heartless and morally reprehensible in polishing up human misery and using it as a topic for entertainment? That's a criticism that could be applied to most of the songs here, though for some reason it only occured to me because I don't much like the smooth style of this Sam Cooke song.

Anybody know any doo-wop songs about rape? I'd also be interested in some light jazz on the theme of genocide... (= joke. Please don't post me anything.)

On a lighter note, who sang that song about "Workin on a chain gang, going down down down..." ? I thought it might be Wilson Pickett, but I'm not seeing it on Youtube.

The tournament guide has been put up if anyone wants to take a look:

https://www.dellwooddg.com/inparcerated/

I'll be setting up my PA system in my garage this evening to make sure I have everything covered. Don't want any last minute BS happening. I haven't used it since last year at a wedding reception. I have the intro/playlist backed up on an ext. HD, and my phone, so that's covered. I have about 10 refurbished laptops in my office at work (we use them for our RTD systems), so I'll just snag one to use for the day along with the HD. Don't want to have to use my phone in case I need to make calls. I should be all set.

Let's make some history.

I have to fix the mounting plug on the one main but it's still fine, it just looks drunk. I've got my trusty Peavey KB300 hooked up to the bridge output for some much needed bass, since those 15's are a little weak. Also, I had to go through 3 laptops to get one that isn't ****ed for some reason or another. One wouldn't even start up, another one kept making a cycling noise every 5 seconds. Reinstalling the sound drivers didn't even fix it. 3rd times the charm though. The refurbished crap is kinda hit or miss, but cheap. Pretty much all set now.
