Klaus Nomi's live performances are incredible and enchanting. Truly one of the greats.

Last time I listened to Yes, it also made me cry. The ****ing album just wouldn't end.

That performance especially. Beneath his clothes, he was covered in sores from AIDS and very near his death as he sang a piece where he's begging to freeze to death. Heavy.

Tori Amos - Weatherman

I'm very weak when it comes to music. Lots of songs make my eyes moist. This one gets me every time.

This one hits harder when you consider that it's most likely about her miscarriage.

Just a beautiful song. It's about Tori remembering things her father said to her when she was a young girl about to become a teenager.

Favourite lines:
"Snow can wait, I forgot my mittens
Wipe my nose, get my new boots on
I get a little warm in my heart when I think of winter
I put my hand in my father's glove
I run off where the drifts get deeper
Sleeping beauty trips me with a frown
I hear a voice: "You must learn to stand up
For yourself, cause I can't always be around""

"When you gonna make up your mind?
When you gonna love you as much as I do?
When you gonna make up your mind?
Cause things are gonna change so fast"

Her lyrics got more and more cryptic over the years.
This song is pretty straight forward.

One of the many performances of the best collection of chords ever put together. I don't mind the words so much as the sound and feelings evoked. It translates across language and ideology.

^^Beautiful performance...doesn't make me cry, coz I'm dead inside, but still beautiful. Great acoustics also.

That's unfortunate. Hopefully someday you'll find it in yourself to cry. There is nothing worse in the world than life being such a way that you cannot even cry.

I dunno if it's genetics or the way life shapes you. My boyfriend cries all the time. Whenever he's moved by something, mostly by sad things, not so much beautiful ones. Can one "open up the faucets" at some point or is it pretty much a finished story by now?

I guess that's just the thing. What moves you. I guess there isn't a standard, people are different. But something should. It's no one's place to say what should, but I feel like if nothing does, or if the things that do are destructive to others, then maybe there is a cause for concern.

I was joking about being dead inside, I'm definitely moved by things, I get plenty of goosebumps, things make me happy or sad. I often get to the brink of tears, but actual crying just doesn't happen. I wouldn't say that it's upbringing either since my bf is from a macho Spanish family with 3 brothers and yet is super sensitive and emotional . More genetics probably. :/

Anyways, I'm gonna take "cry" as "gives you goosebumps/takes you to the brink of tears" so I can participate and post this:

@5:30 mark. Marching bands just make me deliriously happy for some reason.
