Which is the best album for Paramore?

I’ve been arguing with my best friend which album from Paramore is the best one to date. We know all albums have a different style especially the tunes of After Laughter. So to settle our friendly argument, we thought about asking the opinion of people from the internet. Whoever wins will win free tour to the local museum. It’s just a little game between us. My bet is on Riot. For me, it is, hands down, the best album they have. My friend’s betting on Brand New Eyes. Settle the deal for us, please?

Anything after Riot is terrible. I like pop music but I hate when bands switch styles. After Hayley hit it big with Airplanes she saw the money sign and sold out.

I don't care how you feel about Paramore's recent **** but hating that bands change styles is ludicrous.

Hardly, switching styles from the genre that made you famous an attracted your fanbase has shown to historically alienate your fans and effect sales. Metallica, Lady Gaga, Pat Benatar, Heart - all attempted to switch styles and failed. It's annoying when any band does it. I listen to a rock band to hear rock not for them to go drop a jazz/pop/classical/doo-wop/childrens album.

But I suppose you're correct, 2Pac should have released a country banger and Led Zeppelin should have just switched to classical .

Your musical knowledge seems very limited. For your handful of examples of artists failing I can raise you dozens examples of mid-career genre changes that were wildly successful. How about Fleetwood Mac? How about David Bowie? Iggy Pop? Beastie Boys? Radiohead? How about the ****ing Beatles? Were The Beatles a failure late in their career? Come off it

That doesn't even make sense or relate to Paramore. Fleetwood Mac and the Beastie Boys changed styles early in their career. They weren't even established bands at the time, Fleetwood started with the blues, and the Beastie Boys with punk. I don't really care about Bowie, Iggy, or The Beatles enough to know their history but i'm discussing established bands that suddenly changed genres. You'll be hard pressed to find a handful that succeeded in doing it. It may have worked for a few but I'm discussing Paramore and my own personal history of any band I've enjoyed. It's stupid and annoying for me as a fan of any artist to switch styles suddenly when I became of fan of that band for their style.

Paramore became another bubblegum pop band that sounds like 50 other female-fronted bands doing the same thing. The style change didn't make sense commercially, critically or any other way you look at it. An established band making a style change is career suicide. Paramore at first was looked as a great new up-and-coming band with a female lead singer that was in your face and a band that was hungry. No one cares about them now, their sales are in the bin. I think the last two albums barely sold over 100,000 a piece. No one one wanted it.
