Obviously, this album isn't really in my ballpark. I tried to appreciate it and gave it a couple spins, but...

I don't find it offensive or anything. It's not annoying to listen to, but the moments I really appreciate on any level are pretty short, scattered and few. Every time I feel like Morris improvises his way towards an interesting idea, he drops it right away for some more boring noodling. Of course, the whole thing is noodling in a sense. It's just that sometimes he actually almost finds some musical idea that doesn't just sound like he has no aim at all.

It's not that I think it's bad to improvise, but I'd like it if I felt like the player actually gradually found a direction and did something with it. Still improvising, of course. These tracks, while they seem to work off of some initial idea, they just kind of spool out over time without much of anything memorable happening along the way.

I don't know. I can't really care about this.

Straight down the middle: "Meh".

I’ll open the floor for personal recommendations that are similar to this but just a tad more structured. I can get down on improv but I feel like if you do it for too long you fall into the same base that you started with which is why this album feels very samey from start to finish like others have said. I really enjoy the guitar playing and with just a little more structure and variation I think I’d love it so much more
