MB Artists Classics- The Cure- The Top

Okay, we're back to doing regular albums. This one's from 1984 just before the Cure would become megastars. Vote and vote often (okay so you can only vote once). You can comment often though :) |
Well this one is getting a lot of traffic
I'll probably kill this project on Thursday if no one is interested. In the meantime, I'll give my thoughts on The Top. Best Tracks: Wailing Wall, The Caterpillar Weakest Tracks: Dressing Up, Bananafishbones This is where the Cure is beginning to expand their sound a bit. They’re becoming more popular after making it on MTV in the states. They’re not really sounding commercial so much as the commercial aspects of the music business seem to be coming to them. In any event, this album is slightly weaker than their earlier efforts. They remain dark and do have their inspired moments, but honestly, this isn’t the first Cure album I’d take with me to a deserted island (unless Mary Ann could come along :D). 6.5/10 (The Word Has Spoken :D) |
elph says 10 I say 10
Yes Sir!!! |
I'll take that as you're still interested, Hawk :)

This one has the sound and feel of a compilation album to me and, like the previous album (which actually was a compilation), there are only a couple of songs here that are must-listens and the rest is a bit "meh".
