MB Artists Classics- The Cure- Faith
And were back with the Artists Classics. This time we have The Cure's Faith album from 1981. Is the third time a charm?

pretty good review

I thought so too. Very impressive, Elph :)

Don't they still play shows?

I think he means this lineup specifically.

Ah. Makes sense.

Did I miss something or is rubber soul just blatantly copying TH? I think I missed something.

This album was close to being a 7 for me, but I went for an 8 instead. I think this album is really quite good. Definitely solid, and pretty entertaining as well. But is it anything spectacular? I would say no. Other Voices and The Drowning Man are my favorite tracks. This album, if anything, is really really low-key. Primary and Doubt are the only tracks which mix things up at all, which would be good if they had some interesting hooks, which they don't really. So every track on this album is about the same level of good, but not great. The two tracks I mentioned are the only IMO that go above and beyond.

I don't honestly think Rubber Soul wants to be known as the new TH. I don't think anyone deserves that. :D

As I said before, I’m not really a Cure disciple. I certainly don’t hate them by any means. As such, this, like the two before are solid albums. It starts out with two very solid tracks in the Holy Hour and Primary, but after that, it’s basically something pleasant to listen to. Favorite tracks are The Holy Hour, Primary, and Doubt, which I agree is a classic. Overall, not a great album but certainly above average. 7/10 (The Word has spoken :D) |

Nope, used to do that at WF and got burned out. Besides, I'm not very good (bad) at Dad jokes. |
This one doesn't quite flow with the feel of a concept album like their previous album does but I like it a bit more. Somewhat gloomier and more goth, it also has some essential Cure songs and, like "Seventeen Seconds", it holds together well from start to finish.
7.5/10 There were two versions of this album when it was released. The LP which had 8 songs on it and the cassette version which had 9 songs. The song which was left off the vinyl version was a 28 minute instrumental called "Carnage Visors" and wasn't included on the LP due to the time constraints of vinyl. Probably the only time in my life that I've bought an LP, discovered there was another song which wasn't on the album and then went out and bought the cassette version just for the extra song.
