This album is okay. It's just not really that interesting, not many great hooks, not much good production. The title track is the only thing that makes me think, "Yeah, that's The Cure!" Everything else is fine but it's just generic undistinguished post-punk. Good, but not at all great.

Good debut album from The Cure. It sounds a bit thin on the production and it has the sound and feel of a demo more than a finished album but that's part of its charm.
An energetic post-punk classic. 8/10 |
