Alternative to iTunes

I'm quite old-fashioned and am still fond of having a portable music library rather than joining the 21st Century and just streaming like everyone else. Anyway, iTunes no longer recognises my account and I have tried a lot but it just won't work for me. I used to use CopyTrans as an alternative, but they recently updated their programmes to cater only for iPhones. I also tried MusicBee, PodTrans and Music Monkey without success. Some of these recognised my iPod but wouldn't allow me to update it.

Any recommendations?

Your best bet is to buy an Android phone for $10 USD and buy as big of a MicroSD Card that you find, and use it for a media player.
