For me, it is a fantastic song. It takes a while to get going, but the build up is worth it. There are some songs that just move you and this is one of them for me. If you have seen the film as well it kind of adds to it I think.

I heard it on the radio recently and felt a bit emotional, then they stopped it just as the guitar solo was about to come in and I can confirm I was a bit annoyed.

**** yeah! If you're going to listen to that you need the whole breakdown at the end, the guitar solo, the descending orchestral bit, the wails and sighs from Prince. Right down to the very last note, mate. Otherwise, GTFO. Superb song.

The only thing I remember of that movie was around the beginning when Prince was trying to rock out and going all crazy Hendrix or some **** and the audience is like, "Dude, what a fag."

Good thread idea! I've got a ton of things to spam in here, but I'll start with just a few.

The new Tori Amos album, Native Invader, was my favorite new album of 2017. All songs on the album are good, but a few register as favorites for me. Several of them have a sort of adult contemporary vibe. The song below is one of my favorite songs of 2017. How's that for uncool?

In all seriousness, I absolutely love the vocals and the carefully layered backing track. Especially the use of a hammond organ (or something similar) does all sorts of wonders for this track - as does the use of electric guitar. I just really dig the sonic characteristics of this album and this song really exemplifies that quality.

Tori Amos - Cloud Riders

I bought a Nicky Holland album last year after an MB member mentioned it. Still love it. The single, Lady Killer, is great.

Nicky Holland - Ladykiller

I really love my crazy alternative metal, but my love for good singer/songwriter type material is equal. Below is a song from one of my absolute favorite albums of 2016. Not a lot of songs from the album are available on Youtube, so I'll just go with the single, even though almost everything else on the album is even better.

Suzanne Vega- We Of Me [Official Video]

Also just felt like posting some Sarah Slean. I like a lot of her music. Haven't heard her music in a long while, but I remember the album where this is song as being really good.

Sarah Slean - Eliot

More like Blue Rain, if you know what I mean

Yeah but then he wins them over, with Purple Rain. Then he performs I Would Die 4 U.

It's superb.

Lots of somewhat lame Russian music I love due to nostalgia and good lyrics.

It's got that slow paced traditional blues ballad formula that i hate. Another song like that for me is Hey Joe by Jimi.

Well if you like it it's on the right thread.

This is true. Look up boring, bland and mainstream music in any dictionary and there you'll see a picture of me. I pity you.
