More overrated and bad bands.

Franz Ferdinand, The Kaiser Chiefs and Bloc Party are all crappy bands that i have seen on tv and on the radio. These bands are all pretty bad I'm not gonna bother talking about their hits because they are so crappy and irrelevant that it would be a waste of time. The most famous of these bands would probably be Franz Ferdinand with their biggest hit being Take Me Out. These bands make Paris Hilton's music seem like better entertainment than rock music. Just listen to the Kaiser Chiefs biggest hits and try not to ****ing fall asleep, their music is just tortuous to listen to.

The Temper Trap are an Australian band that got famous in 2008 with their hits Sweet Disposition and Love Lost. They have had songs that were soundtracks for movies like 500 days of Summer and No Strings Attached. This band sucks ,sorry to say but it's true. Their lead singer sounds like a woman that's screaming while struggling to take a huge dump. The vocals are really bad for a rock band even one as soft as this one.

5 Seconds of Summer are a pop band from australia. This band is One Direction and Justin Bieber but they actually play instruments. If someone made you a playlist with those artists songs and you weren't looking at the name of the artist's on the screen you would barely be able to tell which of them it is. Very easy guitar playing but what do you expect from a pop band. These guys music follows the same modern pop formula as pop stars like Selena Gomez or Miley Cyrus which I'm not saying is bad but I just don't know how they all sound the ****ing same, these guys must all have the same damn songwriters or something, all these artists songs sound exactly the same with the exact same structure and formula, I don't know how they do it. Anyway this band sucks so bad but of course I'm not gonna listen to generic modern pop garbage like this band.

I think i had a similar reaction to Bloc Party. My friends were really into them but when i first heard the singer i thought he was too pop and dramatic. Eventually i got the album they were crazy about Silent alarm and some songs in it won me over.

This is the only album i had from them but i've listened to some of their other stuff and it ranges from annoying to pretty good cause they tried a lot of new things that didn't always work imo, but at their core, i think they're a decent Alternative band.

More overrated and bad bands.

Iron Maiden are considered one of the best metal bands of all time. The Number of the Beast is considered one of the best metal albums of all time. Two of their most popular songs are The Trooper and Run to the Hills. I never liked this band despite all of the praise and good reviews they got. Bruce Dickinson's voice is terrible and the riffs and guitar parts of their songs are crap. This band just doesn't have good songwriters, the songs are crap even though they are epic and dramatic and about topics such as war and historic battles like the song Paschendale. When Axl Rose was interviewed in 1988, when he was asked if he thought that his band had any similarities to iron maiden his response was " I hope not". The bands fan base is huge and they've sold 100 million albums worldwide without any radio airplay or promotion, a fact which they brag about in the press. I don't like this band at all and I think they are pretty overrated by their fans and by the music and metal community.

Anthrax are a pretty overrated metal band. they are considered part of the big 4 of thrash metal even though they haven't done one song or album worthy of having that title. It's kind of hard to even take the band's music seriously, songs like Madhouse, Antisocial and Caught in a Mosh are kind of ridiculous. they just don't sound very serious. I think that they should take Anthrax out of the big 4 of Thrash Metal and Put Sepultura instead . Very bad and overrated band.

I had thought there might still be some hope, but, well, facts don't lie do they?

I have massive Maiden nostalgia but they're no longer a go-to band for me. I just heard it all so many times and now I just don't listen to much melodic metal unless it's some kind of NWOBHM or sick USPM from the 80s.

I mean they weren't the best but they came correct on their first three albums at least. Among the Living is a minor beast ("I Am the Law" is great as a song and as a paean to Dredd), the debut is top shelf early 80s cornball speed metal, and Spreading the Disease is a desert island album tbh. It's just perfect 80s cheese with some top notch hooks and so much energy.

I still like to listen to and look for melodic metal bands a lot, but I guess, now that I think about it, even most of those that I listen to these days have a good deal of aggressive aspects to them, with screams and busy drumming, etc.

It just feels like a lot of the most interesting modern metal bands are at least partially in the "extreme" camp, musically. Kinda makes me want to try actively and find some more more modern metal bands that only do melodic stuff.

Don't be too proud of that. You've neither managed to really stir any ****, nor say anything interesting. Can't you at least make it seem a bit more like you even understand the bands you're talking about? Like having something to actually say; other than just "band x sucks because they're really not that good and then they got poppy and worse and they're overrated." Rinse and repeat.

Maiden and Priest deserve tons of credit, if for nothing else, helping rock and metal fans get through the punk and disco eras.

I've obviously pissed people off by criticizing Iron Maiden. Sorry, I don't like them.Just wanted to see if other people felt the same way lol. They are a very highly rated band that even my friends like allot. But I don't like them.
