Well the thing about Faith No More is they're an experimental band. They aren't a really consistent band with a consistent sound through all the tracks on their albums. They can go from Midlife crisis on Angel Dust To the cover of Easy. Maybe a few years ago I would have dismissed them as **** because they fused rap and industrial with heavy guitar rock. Just like I would have dismissed Korn. But they've definitely got some exciting tracks on at least 2 of their albums obviously I'm referring to the first two with Mike Patton as their singer.

You'll get fixed.

I don't think I listen to a lot of weird music. There might be some exceptions (like this), but the vast majority of what I listen to should be accessible enough for anyone who isn't completely closed minded.

If anything, I'm listening to more and more music with shameless pop hooks.

From the album I'm obsessed with the most at the moment:

I don't know why so many modern metal bands use this ****ty, over-processed guitar tone. It makes so much melodic death metal even more unlistenable.

I don't disagree. Their two newest albums suffer from this and a ridiculous amount of overall audio compression. Makes it feel more like Evanescence than a legit heavy metal album like their older albums were, but I still like the two newest albums a lot ("Prevail I" and "Prevail II"), despite that. They've very vocal oriented in the songwriting anyway, so I just listen to them like hooky pop-rock records.

Sounds better on my stereo than on my laptop, but still.

When it comes to modern metal production, I've just learned to get along with it.

^ Over-rated, yes, but they've both come up with some great albums, so if you're calling them worst as well (see thread title), I'm gonna delete that wavey in favor of :ar_15s:

And I also think that OH's personal attack on Chula's musical knowledge is uncalled for and breaks MB etiquette if not MB rules. It's not fair to say that you understand something better than Chula does and leave that comment unsubstantiated. Chula knows his stuff.
What happened to all those hashtag-Hawk-heart-Chula sentiments?!

It's over. :( All that's left to do now is split up the Led Zep collection and decide who gets the battered Marshall that Jimi Hendrix once pissed on, according to legend.

So a good artist is one you have a crush on?

And of course there's allot of risk in criticizing other bands because then you come off as an arrogant prick but it just shows how passionate I am about music that I'm willing to express my ideas on it.

Now you got it.

How odd that your mum isn't into extreme metal. Mine's into Gravedigger...
