Two words: Frat Rock

Fugazi was like some kind of Hardcore super-group, so I heard. Never listen to know whether or not they lived up to the potential of being a "super-group." tbh I like them the first time around though, when Guy Picciotto was with Rite of Springs and Ian MacKaye was with Minor Threat.

I think this song is decent:

I also liked "Frat Rock" better the first time around when it was songs like
Louie Louie.
The Kingsmen - Louie Louie

Fortunately, Minor Threat left their legacy alone instead of becoming Fugazi.

I have a serious problem with this thread.

If you had been a fan of Minor Threat before Fugazi was formed you might get it.

Saying you were a fan of something else before something else formed so you "get it" is stupid. The music is either good or it isn't. Fugazi has always been solid as f*ck.

All I know is that in high school Minor Threat changed my life. In college, I heard a bunch of frat bitches singing along to The Waiting Room as I was walking home from a night class. I was like aw hell no.

I know you're older than me so I'm surprised you haven't reached the point in age where you stop giving a f*ck about other people and just do/like whatever you want.

The problem isn’t that frat boys liked Fugazi. The problem was and still is it sounds like music they like. ****ty boring music.

Can you give some examples of Minor Threat songs that are better than Fugazi?

The worst Minor Threat song is far better than the best Fugazi song. Everything start to finish on complete discography is other level.

MacKaye wanted to go in another direction with Fugazi. It wasn't supposed to be anywhere near Minor Threat. Whole different entity. You seem to feel cheated that Fugazi isn't another Minor Threat.

I think if all MacKaye had left was some bull**** frat band that didn’t even have the charm to be a good frat band he should have just retired.

Minor Threat is sacred so there’s no comparison.

Honestly, if you don’t understand how superior Minor Threat is to Fugazi I’m actually doing you favor even entertaining the conversation. It’s not really an opinion worth exploring.

Dude, frat guys don't listen to Fugazi and the ones that did, who you ran into, are now as old as you so who the f*ck cares it was ages ago. It was a unique situation.

If you don't like Fugazi, that's fine. You're just giving "I hate grunge" reasons right now.

That's actually one of the few songs i know from them along with Seeing Red and Guilty of Being White but i didn't know this one.



Minor threat is good and all but ive heard tons of punk bands with a similar vibe. Going by punk standards, yea, they're good band. But going beyond genres i think Fugazi explores music more.

If i want something heavy.



If i want something trippy.



If i want to chill.



Im not an expert on either band but from what i heard from both of them, i prefer Fugazi.

Because they were so influential.

Lame
