I tend to agree with their view on things. Trying to shoehorn a band into only one box is not always meaningful.
Except that they're clearly indie kids trying to make indie music. You can try to make as many distinctions as you want about what they are, but they're clearly indie kids making indie music.

I'm not gonna argue, but only because I don't have a horse in this race.

I can definitely hear some emo in River's vocals at certain moments. And not the good sort of emo (if there's such a thing) im talking Dashboard Confessional kinda emo.

Weezer is power pop, in my opinion. Pinkerton is the most indie thing they ever recorded, but even then, I'd put that album more in the emo power pop camp, though it was definitely more raw, more gritty, and noisier than any of their other albums.

I don't care that it's indie, I care that it's the kind of indie made by boring indie twats who make boring indie music that can only appeal to boring people who think that being twinkletoes is reason enough for the music to be interesting.

I mean if you're that kind of person then go hog, dude, but otherwise... nah you're probably that person. You wear a beanie.

It's twee enough. I wouldn't expect you to understand. You're kinda twee yourself.
