I consider The Wall somewhat underrated. I think it has a reputation for being this prolonged Roger Waters masturbation session, but as far as concept albums go, it's a real achievement. It's got great music, awesome visuals, touches on very human emotions/subjects on a level that few albums do and.. I love how bleak it is. I'm a sucker for occasional feelbad.
It was one of my first rock albums (besides "golden oldies") and we also had a VHS of the live concert when I was a kid, though that may have been a bootleg. Later on in my teens, I also enjoyed (?) the movie with Geldoff. I actually haven't checked out Roger Waters The Wall, but I've almost bought it a couple of times now. From what I gather, the latest is good stuff.

Have you heard Radio KAOS and Amused to Death? Two excellent solo albums by him. I'd also recommend In the Flesh, his two-disc live effort. Wonderful stuff.

I also think The Wall is full of excellent songs; put together, they tell a story, but each is a perfectly good song in its own right. I did find the whole Trial section to be a trial though. (Geddit?) But Batlord also has a point:- You know when you're doing something and you think "Listening to a bit of music would make this more agreeable?". I remember thinking that on one occasion, then realizing, "Oh, I'm already listening to Pink Floyd!" Something like Echoes was going straight through my brain, leaving zero impact.

They should've broken up after their 1977 tour and left Roger Waters to release 'The Wall' as a solo project.

About them being boring, I did give Endless River a listen-through, but yeah.. that passed through my brain like, uh, common sense goes through Batlord. Without sticking to anything.
