Just weird to see a drone/ambient record from them. They're a noise/alt rock band that focuses on hooks and songwriting a lot. I just read that this new album is just a mash of stuff from the previous recording session. Noodling and such.

I just followed your Last.fm link last night, from the introduction thread. Surprisingly I knew almost all your top 50 artists, except the top 2, Creepoid and Pile. I’ll have to check these out. This new one sounds pretty neat from hearing Frownlands link.

Sleater-Kinney - Path of Wellness
Welp, there it is. It usually takes at least two listens for me to form an opinion on a S-K album, but I think I've taken in most of it in one go. That probably has the same cause as my final judgement of it: it's just kind of boring. I still don't really mind the poppier sound, and they've done songs I didn't like much before the last two albums, but they never bored me before The Center Won't Hold. This album does so maybe even more. I'm missing the things that used to set them apart, whatever those were exactly.

yes, she's certainly a big part of it
but still she's wasn't part of the first two albums and Call the Doctor has the Sleater-Kinney magic
