you don't have to listen to all of it at once, I probably never will.

The digital age has reshaped the way we think about time and music. And I’m more open to things being longer but on the other hand if it looks like it’s going to be impossible to digest I’m less likely to take the first bite. Just because we don’t have to edit doesn’t mean we shouldn’t.

And that’s coming from me and I probably spend more time exploring new music than any other poster on this forum. I know I’m being given music basically for free but I still feel like after a point it’s me being generous... with my time. That’s why I’m not doing it this year. Wagner made his narcissism work but goddamn there’s a lot Wagners out there these days. You can tell me to **** off instead of answering this question but I’m going to ask anyway: If I only listen to one track which one should it be?

what do you know, I was completely right. People see how long something is and are for some reason disinclined to listen to any of it at all.

Although the album being mine isn't doing me any favors either.

I like to take in the entirety of a music project. So after about 85 minutes time definitely becomes an issue. If I don’t know the artist 2 hours is a usually deal breaker and so is 7 releases in one year. Even musicians I like can push me away with too much volume. Good editing is a crucial part of good composing.
