I feel the same way about pretty much everything. It’s like in the digital age they don’t have to curate and make tough choices. I intentionally avoid bonus tracks, even with jazz. If I wanna hear the bonus tracks I listen to them separate from the record.

Those old Minutemen and Black Flag records at like 8 minutes and give you more than you’d expect in 45 are a blast. They’re not singles either. Those are full songs with verses and choruses

That's a fine sentiment but the reality is most albums over 40 minutes could probably lose a song or two at least.

I'd rather an album to be too long as opposed to too short personally. Stuff can wear out its welcome but I think it's much better than leaving before satisfyingly welcoming it.
that possibly applies better to songs though |

The more overlong an album is the closer it gets to being a compilation rather than a cohesive piece of art. Ruins the magic.

God damn it I edited that comment and realized I ruined the whole sentence, then I changed it again but it was still ****ed. Then I couldn't remember what it was the first time. Then I spent like two minutes staring at it in edit mode trying to figure out how to fix it. And of course you quoted it in the middle of all that. Piece of ****.
