Badass = it's heavy and I like it

Constant change ups giving it an unrelenting atmosphere and dissonance can also be a part of it I guess, but it's not a rule or anything.

Yep, sure do but honestly I do it way more with climactic free jazz than metal. Whenever something throws me for a loop I usually have that reaction.
