That's really being very unfair to chimpanzees.

What is Nirvana's clame to fame? The grunge era? Ripping off The Pixies and Sonic Youth? Nirvana is no match for G N R, which is arguably the greatest band in the last 30 years.
More than make changes themselves, Nirvana just brought those changes to the mainstream. The true innovators were the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Black Sabbath, Lou Reed, Metallica, Van Halen, Def Leppard, ect.

While I think Nirvana is fine, I'm not really bothering to argue against your take on them. But calling Guns & Roses the best band of the last 30 years? You're free to hold that opinion, but I wouldn't let them near a top 500.

Actually, the Beatles never did anything but bring the new ideas of better bands to the main stream in an easily digestible form. Bowie arguably fits the same mould, although at times less easy on the ears.

The Beatles are one of the most overrated groups of all time. They were barely even mediocre as musicians. They did, however, have some damn catchy tunes and strong marketing. That's what made them what they are.

Absolutely underrated band. Great songs, lots of hits. They fall in the same category as Queen in being totally different from what's going on (only a few groups actually manage this) that said they seen what sounds great and try to form a similar strong sound.

Hysteria happens to be one of my top ten albums of all time never have i heard an album of such quality (rocket and gods of war among fave songs).

Yeah ... Leppard were nothing more than another rock band who went the AOR route. I personally like them - I have Pyromania - but I don't see them as being innovative in any way. You might as well call Journey or Asia or Bon Jovi innovative. FFS.

Not quite sure how you can call them underrated when everyone knows "Animal", "Pour Some Sugar on Me" etc but okay. I'd call them a decent AOR band, but I see nothing they contributed to the music scene that makes them deserving of such praise.

Also, Phil Lynott is dead, in case you weren't aware.

It sure was. He should have given up the booze and the drugs long ago. RIP.
