No doubt about all three of those bands being overrated but Nirvana is much better than the other two. Smells Like Teen Spirit is a great anthem. Tool and Kanye are ****ing worthless.

Teen Spirit is great but nowhere close to being their best song. Also, anyone who's cool knows that In Utero is Nirvana's best album, not Nevermind. MTV Unplugged In New York is also an acceptable choice as a favorite Nirvana album.

Nirvana’s catalog is so tiny even the most casual fan knows all of it. To be enough of a fan to actually still care about anything beyond their one hit wonder reveals ignorance more than knowledge.

Just checking in to confirm that Weezer is whack.

You sure that argument is water tight?

So having a small discography (they actually have quite a large number of songs that never made it on their albums) means being a fan makes you a pleb? Okay then. Also, they had more than one hit ni🅱🅱a. Lithium? Come As You Are? In Bloom? Heart Shaped Box? All Apologies? Plateau? Lake Of Fire? Bruh, do you even play the game?

I’ve heard everything they’ve released. And also saw them in a small club when they were still opening for Dinosaur. The only thing that separates them from bands like Green River and Mudhoney (both of whom I also saw live back in the early days) was how insanely catchy and timely Time Spirit was. Teen Spirit is a beautiful anthem and probably worth more singlehandedly than every other grunge song put together. It’s famous for good reason and over time it will be all that’s remembered of that entire movement.

But it's overrated and there are far better songs from the grunge era. It's a good song, but everything on Dirt by Alice In Chains is better. And plenty of other better songs by grunge bands as well.
