It's modern classical, with the music being composed around a pretty nice lecture by Daniel Dennett. There's not even anything particularly noisy or dissonant.

I really enjoyed that. The way he speaks in time with the rhythm and melodies of the music, or the music adjusts itself to the cadences of his speech, really spellbinding. Sometimes the repetition gets a little annoying, but the whole thing overall really excellent. Music was great, lecture interesting and fun, and the two blended together perfectly. Thanks, g-man!

Yay.
Glad you had fun.
And the music was composed around his speech, so he doesn't adjust it. Pretty sure he had no idea that the lecture would even be used for music when he held it.

Okay, but then something was adjusted. He surely didn't say things three or four or more times - "Even if it makes no sense, even if it makes no sense, even if it makes no sense" - did he? Reminded me of Tom and Jerry cartoons, and for some reason this:

Sure, the samples have been spliced, repeated and rearranged a bit. He didn't say "adaptations" a hundred times either.

Best album of the year so far.
I can't believe Frown and Occ aren't sucking its dick yet.
Sad.
I feel guilty about shutting out the spoken word thing. I’ll give this an honest go.

I thought that I sang the praises of this album here last night but I suppose not.

Beak> - L.A. Playback

A compilation of rarities, b-sides, and old unreleased **** from Beak>. I remember listening to their s/t but I don't remember what I thought of it. It's a compilation of rarities, b-sides, and unreleased tracks from the group and it touches on krautrock, post-punk, goth rock, stoner rock/metal, minimal synth, experimental rock, spacey psych rock and more. It was an almost exhausting first listen because each track was strong and had a lot to offer. Jonwayne even shows up on one of the tracks. Tasty, I have to go back and check out their other stuff.

But is it a compilation of rarities, b-sides, and unreleased tracks?
