Sons of Kemet - Your Queen Is A Reptile

Maybe the best album of the year so far [Afro-Jazz].

7/10 imo

That No Age record is good as well.

Current top five in no order:
Jean Derome - Rèsistances
Mike Vaino + Ryoji Ikeda + Alva Noto - Live 2002
Jakub Lemiszewski - Bubblegum New Age
The Caretaker - Everywhere at the End of Time - Stage 4
William Parker - Lake of Light : Compositions for AquaSonics

I just listened to it again and I don't know why I rated it so highly. I'd agree with 7/10. Maybe I was mistaking it for something else?

Downloaded that Caretaker album earlier today.

Seems like I've spend this year listening to music from just about any other year than the current. I've only got two albums from 2018 yet and they were good but not amazing.

I bet about 3 of my free jazz picks would have a fighting chance. I’m going to try to put together a mid year top 10 soon but with the qualifier that I’m not reaching out much outside of my free jazz and drone thing. After the year’s up then there’s so much more to consider. I’m narrowing the field for the present because 2017 was a blur and I’m still wrapping my head around 2016. I’m enjoying how I’m approaching 2018 but it’s a one off.
