Hermit and the Recluse - Orpheus Vs. The Sirens

Concept album about Greek mythology. Ka on the mic weaving esoteric and dense bars while Animoss hits it with some understated and nautical production. Lyrically it's a lot to unpack and like everything else I've heard from Ka, it just gets more rewarding the more I listen to it.

Not only touches of Animal Collective but a strong Kishi Bashi feel in parts, too. And of course there's a strong Hundred Waters element present, but what I love about this album is the fact that something that's not **** K-Pop has come out of South Korea. What a relief!

I thought IDLES 2017 debut album Brutalism was ok and showed strong promise. Their new album though, Joy as an Act of Resistance, is much better and shows that they could become a stronger face and sound in the post-punk scene.
