It's called passion, look it up.

My full review to come, I want it to be a goodin.

I'm not suggesting it's not, not at all. I'm sure this kind of singing is highly-prized and sought after in this genre, and I have no doubt she is recognised and celebrated as an excellent and accomplished proponent of her art. I'm not in any way saying she is wailing because she can't sing. I understand. But some things just don't chime with me, and this kind of singing sets my teeth on edge. Doesn't make it bad, doesn't mean it's not talent, or that I would counsel anyone else not to listen to it. But it is not for me. Love the guitar, hate the voice.
Again, shrug.

It's pretty prominent on the closer Sangre Gitana Y Mora as well. Maybe it's Moor influence? I wish Alyosius was around to drop some flamenco knowledge on us.

I understand, I was just being sassy. Her voice has an almost whining or complaining inflection to it. I find that contributes to the organic emotions on the record, but I can see where it would turn you off a bit. It's also very up front in the mix and she has a lot of power to her voice to begin with, so it's hard to escape if you just want to focus on the guitars. Is that your full review btw?

No, that was after listening to only two tracks. I've heard the whole thing now. I'll do a proper review in a day or so.

Review matrix. Now that I no longer have to do my thread and I have more time to listen to these albums, I'll try to ensure I use the matrix for all albums in future.
