Dragon Force definitely go too far into "are they just ****ing around or are they for real?" territory for me. Too many notes!
After his second album, Marching Out, it's all downhill as far as I know. One of my favorite solo's from the Malm to the Steen is on Marching out though, and there's a few other good tunes.

Solo from @ 3:15 - 4:32

He spent his load after that and got all glitzy and lazy. The only good tune I can think of after Marching is Leviathon off of Fire and Ice (an instrumental, thank God), and his work with Alcatrazz and Steeler were note worthy, but still cheesy af. I stopped listening a while ago, so maybe he's done other decent stuff since.

Like most people, I'm easily bored by neo classical noodling, but this is really good.
There's some nuance here and I love his tone. I've always been a sucker for a good solo, so I could listen to this on repeat.

I'll have to check this album out more closely.

I somehow acquired a Chris de Burgh collection, maybe I lost a bet or was otherwise being punished, I don't really remember but it was utterly horrific.

I've got a bunch of "Why'd They Bother?" LPs, like A Sleep Teaching Record and Spontaneous, In-the-cab Recordings of the New York Taxi Driver, but those at least have kitsch value. These on the other hand... I've no excuse.

Miami Sound Machine have a few pretty good singles actually. If you like the 80's synth pop sound I dunno why'd you be ashamed.

Got it in the dollar bin at the local record store. I'm not embarrassed about owning it, but I feel embarrassed for Tim Curry listening to it.

Honorable mention:

Bf found a sealed copy in the communal dumpster.
