It's good don't get me wrong, others have mentioned, there are tons of exciting background elements but it does drag a bit in the second half and Fear of Music is so much better. I do understand why it's the more 'important' record and for the significance factor I'll bump it up from a 7 to an 8

PS. STFU |
Think I have to agree with everyone else about how the album kind of tapers off after the midpoint, but still, Born Under Punches and Once in a Lifetime are enough to bring me back to this album again and again.
Fun fact, my first exposure to Talking Heads was a cover of Once in a Lifetime on the Muppet Show performed by Kermit the Frog. Even Kermit's version stuck with me for 20 years after when I finally returned to it via Talking Heads. Great ****in' song, Kermit or not. You're welcome. |

There's definitely a fair bit of that going around - not just in this thread. Don't like what I like? You must be retarded and/or have terrible tastes. It's so hard to live on a planet where everyone doesn't think like me.

I love the second half of this album. Houses in Motion and Seen and Unseen are aural sex. I actually like them more than Once in a Lifetime. Listening Wind is more relevent and impactful today then it was back then. And the Overload is a crushing end to the flames, though the heat goes on after the album is done.
And each song is dripping and burning with energy. |
